Good running capacity and agile.

Great athletically but always looked a step behind in reacting as a key back.

Hopefully he plays VFL and potentially gets another crack at the top level.
One has to imagine that he’d be too far behind in the pecking order

I mean guys like Bytel, Connolly, Byrnes, Long etc can’t consistently get games despite pushing into the middle/centre/up the ground… Dunstan was cut last year as not up to it
Joyce isn’t exactly going to be a step up on any of those.

He’s really garnered a lot of love on this forum hasn’t he.

It’s interesting comparing to some players of similar experience in terms of games played that have l had a few bigger games but attract more negative labels

Surely they must have a KPD trade/free agent ( or 2) in mind as replacment ?
I certainly hope so.

Good points skeptic and to extrapolate on the observations about Bytel, Connolly, Dunstan etc and our lack of KPDs...the club has still persisted with a same ol' approach, same players in positions, shuffling deck chairs if you like to still finish in what appears to be this lists destiny, 9th to 12th.

I only hope the slap in the face Windy, Owens and NWM have given the Club is enough to invest in youth. As is giving existing players other responsibilities and stop pigeon holing them.

Just that last dump kick that came back as a goal.

Stigmatised, like that guy with the goat.

What about all the good plays?

The last game he played in against Fremantle was putrid.

He’s not AFL standard and some people are clearly taking the piss suggesting the possibility of him making a comeback as a wingman.

Nice Curly, kick the guy when he is down.
I guess he’s not a 700 game legend like yourself 👍

It just occurred to me that they may see Sharman as Joyce's replacement in the KD stocks

I liked Joyce - admittedly because he riminded me of Hymie the robot from ‘Get Smart’ (1965-1969 rip)
But he was strong and fast…
The game he and Highmore were told to fly the plane , what a disaster. It destroyed Highmore and Joyce. They were lambs to the slaughter.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Tend to agree. Will not surprise me to see Sharman, Allison and Adams all training with the backs over pre season. Hopefully alongside another, yet unknown, KPD.

He has a good leap, but is he big and strong enough? He’d be out of his weight division against some of the key forwards.

The question is was he good enough to play in a grand final? The answer to that is no, so you have to agree with the saints decision to delist him.

Joyce is not competing with these guys for a game they are all midfield or smaller player Joyce was a KPP he should have played at a KPF he did that sometimes at Sandy and did quite well

Yes that’s my point in response to why he wasn’t tried as a mid

Well we were crying out for another key position forward all season. Bombing it to Max King with three guys hanging off him. The powers that be can’t have thought much of him

Yes think that’s been posted as nauseum
So let’s hope he’s a Joyce upgrade …
FWIW according to Dog fans Cordy was never a gun runner and Dogs haven’t placed the running emphasis others have

I can’t stand it when professional elite sportsman on big coin present poorly!

They have one thing to do - train - and earn their money

There are many suburban players who hold jobs and present better than the s*** condition he’s in - I saw him last week - Lenny puts him to shame

Congrats to Darragh

A real pro in the way he goes about it, solid player and will replace Adams in their side.

An example of how a player not getting a game at a bottom club can go to a top club and get a game

Every list is different in its make up.

Good luck to him, terrific team man and person
