1. Tony74 will come out of the woodwork with 5 paragraphs of detailed explanation, and telling us exactly how the club will address the issues.

No he won't, he'll say they're hurting.

2. 3/4 time and it's only 50 points down.
Last yr we lost by 111

I liked Sharman on a HBF. Don’t know that he needs to play there but the kid did well

Wilke is elite. A few like Wood, Sharman, Battle and Sinclair tried hard, but you need 18 on field to put in hard. We have a team motivational issue and that is something that needs to be addressed at coaching level..

But is he better than Lienert? Someone obviously think so

Disagree. Doesn’t have the smarts or the creativity to play that position. May be able to take the occasional intercept mark but you have to be able to do more than that.

Wilkie was outstanding tonight. Battle played well as well. I thought Membury tried hard and even though I’m frustrated I thought Billing’s at least tried hard.

Once again our one tall forward set up failed dismally

It's a massive fat steaming black hole

As is needing another tall key back (additional to Howard)

And 2 class inside/outside mids and another solid ruck

While we wait though Steele Sinclair Wilkie Marshall Howard all approach the wrong side of 30 and plenty of others like Hill Ryder Crouch Ross Webster will or could be long gone

Looks like we are or could be well and truly in no man's land

14 disposals, 10 marks in his first game in the backline! I thought it was reasonable first up effort in defence. Was under fire a fair bit tonight too.

Sharman was crap and the stats flatter him. Mainly from chipping the ball around without inflicting any damage and ineffective kicks.

He was one of the main culprits who was holding the ball up and kicking it sideways. I hazard to guess that most of his marks were uncontested and part of a chain of s*** little chip kicks up the line. Not blaming him but in my opinion just not the answer.

Who was he supposed to kick forward to? We had no midfield.

only via radio but commentators were saying they've practised that chipping it sideways crap all week - that's why they were doing it today. it's not some mad idea the players suddenly took it on themselves to try out.

Well if they were practicing, it didn't bloody work, cos our guys can't hit the side of a barn

Yep. Doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s an outdated and proven flawed game plan against quality teams who know how to pressure (ask Geelong and WC who had superior lists to our current one)

I’m not blaming Sharman for tonight, I’m merely stating that he had minimal impact. The game plan is rubbish which I’ve addressed in another thread

I'm Positive we can stop stressing about finals now.
Well done Saints.
At 8-3 you had us going , but now just a few rounds later you've managed to snuff out any hope we supporters might have been harbouring that we might just be a team that is going somewhere.
Best not to get ones hopes up.
Expectations successfully managed down again.
Really....thanks!

Only positive is that we can now forget about finals and start building for the future.

Start by getting games into Owens and Windhager and anyone who is showing anything at VFL level. I expect that will put some noses out of joint, but so be it.

Loss showed once and for all the value of Seb Ross to the team.

@Saynta The loss showed we are just not up to it and the laughing stock of the AFL .
Tassie looking good if the AFL wants a side in Tassie
Having Seb would not have made a difference to the result.
