Lonie, Kemp, Paton, Sinclair, Geary - no where near AFL standard. Neither is Marsh, but he's not one the 22.

Our handball is woeful under pressure - the main difference between the two teams. Until and unless that improves, we can't be a threat.

However, I think we all knew that the game was lost one minute before the siren last week.

What number is Walton ?

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Who is Walton?

And do you think it might be a good idea to let the team get off the ground before you start sacking players?

Same number as Paton but he'll always be Walton to me.

Credit to Richmond but they must have had world record numbers of handball and kick smothers in that game. Simply because our midfielders refuse to move with the ball, overused the handball and telegraphed the handball.

Long and Carlisle play I think we win that game.

Kent and Marsh simply not up to it.

Ben Walton, N0. 33 played 23 games, first game in 1999, very cryptic.

bulls***. A game we could have easily won. Not blaming King and Battle but if they kicked straighter at crucial times and all those other guys lift and we come home with our tails high.
Gresham, Long, Carlisle and Ryder play and Kent, Geary, Lonie and whoever the f*** Walton is become depth. Walton. I'm guessing you mean Paton? I hope not though.

Would have liked a 2nd ruckman. Certainly Marshall and Marsh didn’t work and Howard rucking in the back-half ??

Richmond kicked goals out of their arseholes in the first half. They won't do that again. The centre clearances killed us, as was the decision to play Marsh ahead of Roberton. Marsh's inability to body his opponent was costly on so many occasions. Hunter Clark helped us get back into the game when he was moved to the middle. Ross, Marshall, and Clark were very good. Sinclair and Hill were a big disappointment. Battle showed what an important player he is. Throw Ryder, Gresham, Long, and Carlisle into that team and it's a totally different outcome. We were good in patches but we didn't convert. They converted nearly everything. Without Lynch, Richmond would have lost. Riewoldt barely touched it.

Need to get a bit stronger and fitter

More than that though... need a bit more depth and to learn the lesson about carrying passengers

Carried too many limited players for too long

List is in a surprisingly precarious place... need to turn a bit over

After a game in which we got so badly beaten in the centre square, I'd probably look at our centre square setup before running through our small forwards.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

I agree with many of the comments here. We certainly need to become more physical and dish out a bit more in terms of harassing the opposition players. Richmond showed us how to do it and we need to learn from it.
Still very happy how we went this year and I don’t think we were far off them tonight.
Anyway, let’s hope the recruiting gods work their magic this year too - although Brad Hill for 5 years at big money shows the gods are fallible.
Go Saints!!

I'm happy with the season. We won a final, not bad for a developing team. Boys will be better for the experience.

Couple of things.

We need a capable third-string ruckman in case of injuries to Ryder or Marshall. Inability to play Marshall forward screwed our structure.

Hunter Clark must start in the middle next season. I don't know why Jones was preferred

If he doesn't know his Waltons from his Patons perhaps he should resist hitting the Summit button to save credibility.

Adding Paton to that list, probably after another sip of beer, sort of exposed his fragile state of mind. He will be perfect again tomorrow.

Long bow mate yeah we had some chances but they were way better . Our most important players didn't fire a shot in the fist half & the game was over . At least we fought it out & that was pleasing it could have got really ugly but we kept trying against the odds which IMO is a very good trait that will hold us in good stead for another tilt next year. Go Sainters I'm a proud supporter tonight even if the result is hard to deal with

Agree but I truely think they needed some games in them before being picked. A normal season one maybe two is in.
