It takes a long time to build a good reputation and a very short amount of time to lose one.

Grenade posting garbage can only be described as trolling. Sort out your s*** Jaxons.

Eff the draft.

I’m sick of bringing in kids.

7 effing years of mediocrity.

I want Sheil and Hanners and others.

Current plan has failed.

We need big names to bring the crowds and hope back.

We can’t eff around for another year rebuilding

We’re definitely not a laughing stock. Agreed we’re not the first choice for players who want the ultimate success soon. But it’s baby steps at the moment, and players from other clubs can see there is definitely upside coming to us. We’ll be mid table next year. Bookmark it.

Not sure why the delay in announcing the new assistant coach, but it might just be the trigger to provide a bit of optimism for us poor suffering supporters as well as players looking for new clubs.

So we don't like what he posts so we play the man.
If Shiel comes he was wrong, or if we pull off a big trade ...
But if we yet again fail to do anything then guess what
We are a laughing stock
Look at north to see how a real non destination club does it

The unfortunate truth is people on the board and in mentoring roles at the club are actually publicly referencing the Buckley and Hardwick stories inferring Richo will follow a similar path next season.

I’m not sure what was in the water (or was it koolaide) they were drinking at their management conference in Broome, but they either believe this BS or back it publicly.

Appreciate your writing No.11, players from other clubs seeing there is upside is great but it would be frightening if they couldn’t because all we have to sell is upside. Hard to go much lower than last year.

Forget Sheil. Go the draft.... and get Smith or Rankine.

we had a shocking year, toughest draw in competition, got hit hard by injuries to Roberton, Bruce, Stevens (all leaders / strong personalities) and lost confidence due to poor conversion in 3-6 games. Bring in 8-10 new players, new game plan and new coaches. Hannebery brings leadership, vice captain of the Bloods; think culturally what influence he will have - show a few how to push your body. We aren’t paying his full wage and only giving up a second rounder. He brings massive value off and on field.

This thing can turn quickly ...think about Collingwood and Richmond last two years. Our list can only go one way and this improve.

How is mid table in any way a 'success'?

Mid-table was a success 2 or 3 years ago. We have had 7 years of a rebuild, and after that effort we have destroyed the football culture of the club and are stuck in the bottom 3, playing aimless football, no character, no soul.

All I see is incompetence of the highest order, starting with the board, then the president, the CEO and a pathetic head coach.

Yet in the bizaro world at the Club we have a great coach, and mid-table finish is a great step forward next year....and no doubt we will extend Richo's contract another 2 years!

...unbelievable!

Better off to be positive and see those in charge trying to change the course of the ship than sook, whinge and ramble on a St Kilda members forum every day. Good luck.
Great to be positive when the work is actually being done at root level. But whilst the root cause of the problem is not being addressed, being all ‘positive’ is just delusion. Having a reality bypass to create the illusion of wellbeing. Continue to ignore the evidence and call those who don’t negative nellies or whatever other moniker you want to label em with, but when you look at the evidence of who wants to come to our club, who we’re being linked with as potential recruits and a coach with a 33% win rate after five years, we are in deep shyte and we’ve just had a “thorough” review of the football department that didn’t include mister 33%. Go figure.

Jaxons would be the most reliable ITK poster on here and has been for some years......but what would he know...let’s stay positive and happy that the club is making an effort...
Agreed.

The rebuild and road to recovery over the last 5 to 6 years has been an epic fail and there are some highly paid administrators who have been key decisions makers during this process and they need to be held to account, not patted on the back and being told “good on you for giving it a red, hot go.”

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

I have been more negative on St Kilda this year than any other time in past 40 years. However from what I have been told by a very good source, Simon Lethlean is the best possible person to have in charge. My concern was whether he was with us for the long term or just using us as a stepping stone but was told he is committed and will most likely takeover as CEO.
Not sure who wields more power now - Finnis or Lethlean but believe Lethlean will definitely be soon if not already.

When in the history of the universe has he ever been a list manager of an AFL club previously?
The recruitment of an injury plagued Hannebury on ridiculous money will be an unmitigated disaster and interesting to note Leathlean is good buddies with Hannebury's father.
Offering Dylan Shiel ludicrous amounts of money to come to St.Kilda smacks of desperation.
The shocking extension by another AFL appointee Mat Finnis of Alan Richardson's contract is incompetence on steroids. and now these three, Richardson (moonlighting on media street ) Leathlean and Finnis are all looking after their own careers and not the best interests of the St.Kilda Football Club imho.
The delisting of Freeman after one and a half games is a total disgrace after he started to play some decent football for Sandringham after three years of investment.
Listening to Richardson talk his monotone drivel for five minutes is nauseating at best, let alone five years which the playing group have had to tolerate. Alan Richardson could not inspire an ant farm with a sugar cube!
The worst coaching record in AFL history with a 33% win to loss ratio after five years!
The sooner St.Kilda sack Richardson, Finnis and Leathlean and get Nick Riewoldt on the board the better.
St.Kilda Football Club is not only a laughing stock it's a basket case.

The post above is the sort of dumb comment you'd expect from gullible people or people trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Players talk to other players. Players talk to assistant coaches who know other assistant coaches and of course they talk to their player managers who talk to all the people in the know.

Players and their managers wouldn't be scanning and reading bloody fan forums from every club that has pitched a deal but...they would certainly be watching some of the footy shows on FoxFooty. Have you listened to Alan waffle with meaningless cliche after cliche on AFL360 each week?

Have you ever heard anyone in the media praise Alan for his coaching? When was the last time Richo personally manufactured a win or inspired his players? Have we heard commentators talk about Alan's words of wisdom or his game day planning or his innovative management of the team during day to day training?

Let's face it. Alan is vanilla boring and unfortunately he doesn't have what it takes to be a successful coach. Everyone who follows St Kilda realises it except Finnis and those responsible for extending Richo's contract. Everyone else who doesn't follow St Kilda couldn't give a s*** if he AND the StKFC continue to win 33% of games

Disagree.

How is this any different than the so-called optimists who condemn warranted criticism as needless negativity and keep declaring that all is well at Moorabbin and that this season, debt, zero star player interest, etc. is only a temporary setback and we should be better supporters by lauding the club for having a red hot go?

How do they know that all is well at the club? Are they ITK, or are they just using heresay, opinion or even baiting the critics by using longbow comparisons between Hardwick, Buckley and Richo?

Exactly. Funny how long a season can be in footy.

At the start of the season, the club was still hanging onto their “road to 2018” blueprint. Apparently we were still playing finals and being a destination club because of Moorabbin.

Now the CEO has egg on his face, but apparently we should give the thumbs up for trying.

Richmond, as we all remember, were contemplating whether to change the head coach at the end of 2016. The board even faced a challenge from the "Focus on Footy" group so they conducted a thorough review and added some new people including Niel Balme. 12 months later they got into a GF

Collingwood were in a similar position throughout last year with the CEO leaving and talk of major changes with the review looking at whether the President, the head coach and other staff and assistant coaches needed replacing. 12 months later they got into a GF

Let's see how St Kilda Footy Club go in 2019. I'm betting that we finish bottom 6 regardless of who we land. Finnis and Lethlean will claim the correct decisions were made if we finish 10th, 11th or 12th. Bookmark it

No leadership and no one to sell our club properly.
If you knew the difference of our pitch versus the other clubs you would demand the immediate removal of all key figures at our club.
Finnis, Geary and Richo as our charismatic welcoming committee....what could fail to impress there?
A senior playing group of Steven, Geary, Armitage and Brown certainly doesn't have the appeal of Harvey, Burke, Loewe, Everitt, Jones, Thompson, Hall that helped lure Gehrig and Hamill.

Butterss and Blight for all their faults had a tiny bit more flair than the current admin as well.
