150 mins to go!

Does Anderscum announce the draw from the Lick@rse Centre?

I agree. Lets be negative from the start. Lets look at all the bad points and only point them out. Lets all think why us.

Even round one. We play the second worst side from last year but lets point out it is away and and on a sunday arvo, not the first point that it is actually an easy game.

Gold Coast, Carlton, Sydney, Melbourne and Bulldogs twice

One trip to Perth and 6 interstate overall

Pretty soft start to the year with Port and Gold Coast

Good draw I think...

From AFL website:

ST KILDA
Football: The Saints start with a trip to South Australia, but eight of the next nine matches are in Melbourne. All up there are six interstate travels, and pleasingly only one of those is to Perth. Scott Watters' men play none of the 2011 top four twice, with double-ups against Carlton, the Sydney Swans, Gold Coast, the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne. They'll also enjoy a comfortable run home, with their last six matches all in Melbourne. One negative is the nine six-day breaks (the most of any club), including a tough turnaround between a Saturday twilight match on the Gold Coast in round 11 and a Friday night against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in round 12.

Business: Have two MCG home games - against Hawthorn and Melbourne - and Etihad Stadium home games against Carlton, Essendon and Richmond. The Blues clash is in the now-traditional post-Mothers' Day Monday night-spot (round seven). Counter-balancing those profitable fixtures will be small home crowds against Gold Coast, Greater Western Sydney and Fremantle. A nice spread of timeslots, with Friday night (four games), Saturday night (six) and Sunday twilight (four) most prominent. Will appear on free to air TV 12 times.

Big game: No doubt it's the round four Friday night clash with Fremantle at Etihad Stadium, when former coach Ross Lyon will return to try and burst the St Kilda 'bubble' that he helped to create.

Most 6 day breaks isn't great, but it's counter balanced by a pretty favourable draw I think.

If we're to be even half decent we should win the first 5 to springboard into the season

No complaints

Terrific draw..

Should be 5-0 at least to start the year, and build confidence from there..

Nothing to complain about IMO.

Fantastic draw - anyone who is complaining, obviously complains just for the sake of it.

I can see us being around 9/3 going into the bye which will have us sitting comfortably inside the Top 4.

If we don't make the Top 4 at the end of the season, no one can blame the draw!!

I'm not celebrating quite yet, its still got a few things that hurt us, player management wise- the 6 day breaks and b2b interstate trips.

But the draw itself without looking at dates or locations? Fantastic!

What a great draw!

Two cracks at the Suns who won't be much better than they were this year.... including our first crack at them on our home ground.

Big home games at the G agaainst Hawthorn and Melbourne will get us a bit of revenue, making up for what we lose by hosting GC and GWS at Etihad.

Six interstate is what I expected. Happy with that. Two at AAMI - no problem, we did that this year. And only one at Subiaco....

The six day breaks aside it is a very cushy draw.

Also, with regards to back to back interstate, realise there are now eight interstate teams so there'll be more chances of doubling up.... at least each are surrounded by a fair few home matches...

16 games at either the MCG [4] and 12 [etihad 11 home/1 away] makeS this an excellent draw...and believe me I haven't been happy with our draw for years...despite the 6 day breaks I think this is our best draw for at least 4 years...BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have a version of the draw that clearly shows just the Saints games, and when they are playing (eg. Fri night; Sat arvo etc)??

GC one week, Adelaide the next. I dont think my bank account will be very happy either.

4 games at the G next year? I was hoping for more like 6+

Geeze I reckon its very average. No home games for opening and closing rounds AGAIN. 6 twilight games. Only 4 MCG games. 2 back to back interstate trips. More 6 days breaks than any other team. And as an interstater, only 2 Sat night games. Not overly thrilled at all.

The last round against Carlton is at our home ground even if it is away and our last 6 are in Melbourne..happy with Draw..6 day breaks not that big a deal these days..A relatively easy start ,playing Gold coast twice in the first 11 ,Geeong only once at Etihad ,the filth once at the G ,Freo early and only once here..and 16 games in melbourne at the G or Etihad..personally I think its a pretty favourable draw..happy for change ;-)

That is a fantastic draw.
Its important to start the season well and the first five games for us look very winable.
We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves however if we can start the season with 5 wins , confidence would be sky high and our experienced players could see us go all the way .
