From what I can gather we have room to make exactly this sort of play, our alternative is to overpay someone or multiple people as we have in the past (billings, dunstan)

The only knock which makes sense to me is he will be taking a younger developing players spot, which would make sense if we weren't about to let Ross and Dunstan go...

Parker will be a pretty bloody good player to learn from too i would have thought.
How about being in no position to make a play for Treloar coz we already had Hannebery and Hill.
Good call, although were we even keen?

Give me parker on 700k over trelour on 900k a year any day of the week.

We couldn't make a play for trelour last year but now if we're in a position to make a play for a player every bit as good you don't want us to?
Yes I think he would be a great addition. He'll be 29 and 5 months at the start of next season. My caution is around recruiting a nearly 30 year old on any kind of big contract. They don't stay stars forever.
True that with the departure of Roberton, Dunstan and Carlisle and potential departure of Ross we will have more funds. Just don't put all our eggs in one basket.

Treloar was Buckley's last gift to Collingwood. Collingwood are paying half his salary for the term of his Bulldog contract. At $450K he's worth it but we still could not afford him (for the season 2021). I suspect our wiggle room is becoming greater.

It will need to be to secure Captain Jack and be a serious player for Bing.

I have to revise my remarks about Matt Crouch, just noticed that he's not played a single game in 2021 so if he has had a long term injury it raises serious question marks on his fitness in 2022.

Without a doubt the love for Luke Parker on this forum is justified, he's had another outstanding season, averaging 27.6 disposals, which will make his asking price even bigger and possibly out of St Kilda's range. If his manager shops him around expect Carlton or GC Suns to win a bidding war.

If we're short on $$$ I cannot see Carlton getting Cerra and Parker. I hope the Suns get in several crazy bidding wars this trade period & win them all!

On Cerra, we are talking about Carlton. I'll be disgusted if it happens.

Not impressed with McLean who by the way hurt his knee.

Only nine possessions and 11 hit outs.

Parker had 34 possessions

He deliberately shouldered the ump. He actually changed course a bit to deliberately make contact. What an idiot. The look on the umps face said it all. Should go for that.

"Deliberately shouldered the umpire".? You sure of that? His coach doesn't think so.

Greene should get a week for deliberately being an idiot.

it'll be another week dominated by this Greene clown and his stupid antics.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Was he perhaps expecting the umpire to turn in the same direction. Generally when you would be walking towards someone and carrying on a conversation, that person will turn rather than just stand there.

Good player & I'm a Toby fan but that is just so immature from a bloke that is treading a fine line . Not a lot in it but just really dumb & if he gets a week well no one to blame but himself

3 co captains.

Hannerbury was their vice captain.

Few other captains and vice captains traded in recent years.

That being said I think he'll stay.

There is a touch of Fabulous Phil Carman about Toby Greene. Both flamboyant and talented but loose cannons.

I was at Moorabbin when Carman head butted boundary umpire Graham Carbery.

Carman was given 20 weeks. From memory he also biffed Gary Sidebottom in the same match.

Greene's incident doesn't even come close to Carman's in terms of severity, but his action was deliberate.

If he is found guilty, and he deserves to be, Greene should be given a penalty that delivers the strongest message possible that no player should intentionally touch an umpire.

A one week suspension would be a disgrace. No penalty at all even more so if that is possible.

Let's load on young guys. As good as Parker is we missed picking him up in the draft.

Is it not true?

Did we draft two diabetics with our first selections in 2010 and 2014?

It was a smart arse thing to say, but it’s what we did!!!
