Having watched a few Sandy games this year, I wouldn't mind us going for Goy Lok (providing none of the mobile ruck/forwards we've been reading about are unavailable). He's explosive, a leader, and a goal kicking mid. He would be hungrier than a lot of the 'fat cats' on our list atm imo

Regardless who replaces all these guys

Carlisle
Hanners
Hunter
McKernan
Roberton
Geary

And very questionable talent

Kent
McKenzie

I expect at least 8 list changes befor 2022

The latest from Max Laughton at Fox Sports have us with 1 pick and showing interest in Max Heath -

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-mi ... e7972dc3f8

Melbourne are flying and on top of the ladder yet they look like using 2 picks, you have to wonder WTF is going on at Moorabbin?

Might only have salary cap room for one pick, probably maxed to cap out on the likes of Hill, Crouch and Hanners as well as a lesser amount on Wood, McKernan, Frawley and Hunter. In any case smacks of poor management which unfortunately is about the only thing we do well

11am AEST today, AFL site says we've activated just the one pick.

Lethers on point again.
After bringing Hannas, he know thinks we only need one pick.
Even though we should activate as many as possible.
McKernan has been a bust, Frawley is past it, Hunter (Paul) might be a trier but has shown little

Would it be reasonable for the club to be transparent on this and provide an explanation?

Lethers already did, over a week ago.

He said something like we don't wanna get someone in just for 6 mths, 'it's not fair to the player and the club.'
They want someone who will contribute long-term.

Funny cos Frawley n McKernan are understood to be just short-term fixes. LOL
His messages confuse me a lot.

Apparently costs $80k if you don’t retain the player for 2022

10k goes to vfl or side they come from
50k to player

20k if delisted end of year

So need to be worthy the 160k... for two players

Max Heath looks perfect.
https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/2020/09 ... vic-metro/

Please no Riley Knight

When is the draft held?
I.e. when will we officially nominate a player and submit the paperwork?

A fitting theme song for the saints recruiters to enter the room on draft night would be Judy Collin’s Bring in the clowns

Just in case Moyle & Heath are gone before our pick/s another 19 yo ruckman option, is the mobile 202cm Liam Podhajski of Calder Cannons. His name was doing the rounds earlier in the year after he trained with Essendon, but seems to have gone quiet since. I wonder if Dodo has tried to hide him?

This year is a unique year for the mid season draft. With the TAC CUP being canned last season plenty of kids didn't get the exposure they usually would have. Plenty of hidden gems out there.

Fox Sports have listed the Saints showing most interest in -

The Saints have four picks for Wednesday night’s virtual selection meeting, but foxfooty.com.au understands they’ll use no more than two selections if their targets remain available. They’ve been linked to an array of players, including former Crows midfielder Riley Knight, who’s averaged 27.5 disposals for Woodville-West Torrens from seven SANFL games this season. However 18-year-old Sandringham Dragons tall Max Heath, who was overlooked at last year’s national draft, has been most strongly linked to St Kilda’s first selection. St Kilda has also shown interest in WAFL forward Blake Schlensog (South Fremantle) and SANFL defender Mitch Duval (West Adelaide).

Schlensog 20 yo, 199cm intercept marking key defender who has been racking up possessions this season, would be useful.

Heard they've asked the question of a young bloke in the YV that kicked 19 early on in the year to nominate a year early.
