I think we should be careful not to make rash judgements or direct criticism at A.Bains.

He was presented with a nightmare of a trade. Essendon and I would lump Carlton into that mix are very, very, very difficult people to deal with.

Carlisle was not worth a direct swap for pick 5 and that clearly didn't happen. It is unfortunate that we had to trade away such a high pick and indirectly give the Bummers 5 along with pick 4 they already had.

Ameet and the club was between a rock and hard place. Make the wrong move and we could easily have lost some someone we desperately needed.

Make no mistake we wanted and desperately needed someone like Jake Carlisle. He will play down back in his preferred position for us now and hopefully turn into an All Australian defender.

Freeman is an excellent get and if Nick Maxwell is right he could turn into a superstar and we will have stolen him from right under the noses of the filth. That in itself is a cause for celebration.

So with all of that horse trading we have a chance to get a decent young kid at 14 plus Bailey Rice under the father son bequest. All in all we done very good IMO. Well done St Kilda Football Club.

I don't think I've ever read someone being overly critical of Bains, I'd say just about everyone around he thinks he's one of the best things to happen to the club in recent years. Overall he's doing a great job!

With the news regarding Carlisle and illicit drugs breaking out, I'd hold back from acclaiming Mr Bains as a genius at this moment. It would seem that we have been yet again sold a pup by Essendon.

Cmon that's harsh. How the hell would he know?

Ameet has done well in the past.

But today it looks like he has egg all over his face.

Jiggster you are normally the voice of reason - what happened did you forget to take your medicine :D Don't give up on AB - he is one of the best key staff we have had. It is disappointing but I am sure this was a bolt out of the blue - I am sure they would have been aware of other issues and believe they could overcome them. Perhaps they still do. Come on Jiggster back to the glass half full please - there are enough negative Nellies on this site.
