Great games by Daniels, Sheldon, Kourkoumelis and Elphinstone. “Eel” was a very good player in his time, but his best years coincided with us being crap.

No surprises that when the game needed to be won it was Lockett and Winmar who produced the magic. Plugger seven goals on an absolute bogmire … what a freak he was.

No surprises either that Greg Burns tried to remove Ablett’s head. Wonder if he got weeks for it? Should have got a medal,

Really good win that. It’s never been easy down there.

These seasons ‘88, ‘89 and ‘90 I would guess you’d call ‘em transition years? Would you?

We had stars. Winmar, Plugger, Stevie L, Burkey and Banger, handy role players and a string of ring-ins from Carlton or Hawthorn.

In 1988 we must have been the best wooden spooners ever. Even % was good for last.

In 1989 we must have gone all out offense.

We kicked over 100 points against Geelong at the cattery! Go Saints! Only problem being that they kicked 35.18 (228)!

Holy-Hole-in-the-defense…

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
