Giblett Snr cleaned up Granty and Burkey which buggered out structure. The maggot spent the rest of the game very quiet and out of the play.

Loewie had an absolute shocker of a game which led to the loss as Geebung were able to move Stoneham onto the GOAT after the GOAT had seen off 3 opponents. And unfortunately Stoneham held the GOAT goalless in the last and we lost
I had been following St Kilda for 16 years at that stage and this was the first ever final we'd been in that whole time, and then the day before my VAFA side won a premiership we had no right to win (coming from fourth and beating a complacent unbeaten team who thought we'd done the hard yards for them by beating their main rivals the previous week) so I was at VFL Park finally to see us in finals in body but have no actual memory of it because I hadn't been to bed yet...

And yes that was the only year when 3 vs 4 was an elimination final (as was 5 vs 6 so suddenly a lesser team was alive the next week) they realised the system was stupid immediately and scrapped it the next year, typical Saints luck...

The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

not a good look by Gaff - angry at himself rather than happy for the team. But who are we to judge. Maxy was similarly angry during the 09 gf. his omission set off alarm bells in my head a bit like the banner yesterday. realised lyon valued fitness over passion, meanwhile geelong pumped an unfit chapman full of drugs, and he won them the game.

Exactly. Many Saints fans consider Maxy the greatest bloke of all time.

Of course Gafgf is upset. Dedicated himself, his diet and training to winning a flag. Just shows he cares. 10 years of discipline and hard yakka.
You can be happy for your mates and still upset at the same time.
Humans are capable of mixed emotions.
In reality this bloke has shown his character by rocking up to training and games in the last 6 weeks and supporting the team.
Probably held on to to his emotion until AFTER the game.
Hardly selfish.

Glad he’s not coming to us.
Yes. We want all our boys to have the personality of the Dalai Lama.

Playing ability is secondary to a superficial glancing judgment of player's perceived personality. I have it on good authority from someone over in the West that Gaff's dental hygiene is also not exemplary. His flossing regime needs a lot of work and there are some in the footy industry who are very unimpressed with him. I cant reveal my sources - but take my word for it. They are in the know.

Lucky we have Geary. A very lovely caring person. Some consider him the reincarnation of Mahatma Ghandi.
Yay US! We are so morally superior to all these other good teams. Boo you!

Thank god we arent getting old 'gummy bear' in our team and can still cheer on Gears and Newnesy every week. Both these boys are true team players who always brush and floss.
Far out brussel sprout!!! What a leap.

Gaff going to Norf, hence just rationalising, so give me a break Benny!

So, I assume you are a better player if you floss? Seriously?? Geary and newans shouldn't be playing afl football. I prefer gaff not brushing his teeth for a week playing with us than having Geary and newans playing with beautiful white shiny teeth and nice breath. Those 2 should not be playing afl football.

Not so sure as yet.

"The Herald Sun has confirmed the free agent has informed the club of his decision and is expected to sign a long-term deal worth around $900,000 a year."

Read the full article and you draw the conclusion that he has (a) rejected North's offer and (b) the Herald Sun assumes this means he is staying. Nowhere in the article does it say Gaff himself has said he is staying, just that he has rejected North Melbourne's offer. Which, I guess he is still a chance to come to the Saints.

At least until tomorrow morning. :D

"WEST Coast’s Andrew Gaff has made the huge call to stay with the Eagles.

The Herald Sun has confirmed the free agent has informed the club of his decision and is expected to sign a long-term deal worth around $900,000 a year.

North Melbourne had tried to lure the 26-year-old with multi-million-dollar offer but has missed out.

The Kangaroos were informed on Sunday.

It means the Roos have tried hard but ultimately failed to land another superstar midfielder after recently missing out on brilliant ballwinners Dustin Martin, Isaac Heeney, Adam Treloar and Josh Kelly."

That good enough for you?

No surprise Gaff would stay to be honest.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Means Norf are still cashed up and now desperate for a fish.
They will be ready to out over-bid us.

I dare say that Lyon preferring Dawson to Max when Zac has spent the night before the game in a hospital on a drip had something to do with his displeasure too
