played at waverley in nice sunshine, packed crowd. ablett knocked out nathan burke and david grant leaving us well short. plugger kicked a bag but missed a few he would normally have got and we lost by a couple of kicks.

it wasn't much fun at the time, let's hope it's better on replay.

One thing I do recall watching replays later is Tony Lockett turning to Barry Stoneham after the siren, shaking his hand and saying 'good luck for the finals mate'. Plugger's sportmanship at that particular moment has stayed with me ever since!
