Allen, Dempster
I am not sure if it has been mentioned but in the SC after the Lions game:
* Dempster said that he would be playing this weekend.
* Allen said he was hopeful of playing in 6-8 weeks. But this was dependant on his surgeon who he was seeing this week. This is quicker than the original back in 2010 prognosis.

yes and yes.Mr Magic wrote:I thnk we're allowed to upgrade a rookie after round 12 (a new AFL rule this year?)
ALso X is on the long term injury list.
plenty of room for rookies in the second half of the year if they're good enough. miles would be the obvious one promoted, but any of the others could take that second spot. and it's pretty likely that there'll be another long-term injury before the end of the year (cross fingers) so that would be another spot.
That is fantastic news. I'm really glad for Allen because that was a dreadful injury. Dempster, I'm really excited about. Very handy player, skilfull and great shutdown capabilities, very under rated, love him.

Agree re-Dempster. He was just showing how good he was going to be for us last year when he went down with his knee injury. Can't wait to see him back in the team.roxanne wrote:That is fantastic news. I'm really glad for Allen because that was a dreadful injury. Dempster, I'm really excited about. Don't forget the nominated rookie who replaces the lack of a second veteran.Mr Magic wrote:I thnk we're allowed to upgrade a rookie after round 12 (a new AFL rule this year?)
ALso X is on the long term injury list.
Means there are at least 2 places after round 12 plus 1 place for each long term injured.
I am not sure if Howard was made the nominated rookie.
We could ask Archie but he ain't there to answer anymore.
But seriously no rookies other than Miles and Dawson are going to play AFL this year.
So no demotions.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

If Dempster plays with Sandy this week, he has 14 weeks to get match fitneess, strength and form back before the finals.
That should be more than enough.

Hopefully, he can play a 5-6 games with Sandy, and we may be seeing him back in Saints colours a couple of weeks after the break?
The Saints are coming!
You dont come back from an ACL and pick up form straight away.
Dempster wont be right until 2010 as far as form goes.
Still nice to have such depth in our defence.

Lance or James??

I partially agree, that is generally how things tend to go. Though BJ was back to good form very quickly, and Hayes only took a few rounds. Wouldn't surprise me to see Dempster pushing for a game in the late rounds, considering he is a run with type player, I don't think finding form would be that tough.joffaboy wrote:You dont come back from an ACL and pick up form straight away.
