Goals records -COngrats Milney 350

Post: # 742483Post saintbrat »

Milney sits on 348 goals after rd 8 2009 - 2 to 350

Roo sits on 344 goals after rd 8 2009- 6 to 350

Milney sits 5th on the Saints goal kicking list
with Roo 6th

they currently sit 114th and 118th in the all time Goal kickers list
and once they get to 360 should be in the top 100 _ ALL TIME

of current players they are 16th and 18th

another one for the years milestones.

I was mildly amused to see the Magpies " triple' teaming him the other week

congrats Milney on getting to 350 goals for the saints

Nick now only needs 2 next week to join him; sitting on 348 after his four

Why Milney is not more popular with fans ?

His goal kicking tally is fantastic.
TV commentators repeatedly refer to him as selfish esp Cometti .
He has quiet times but often can be seen in the back half
Ok his defensive game ist flask but he tries

Time to hail him as a Saints Hero !!!!!!

Hear hear!!

I think Milne is in that category of players called Mercurial. He can disappoint you and leave you speachless with awe in the same game, but boy wouldn't the Saints be duller without him!

Sometimes he's worth the membership on his own, and I'm enjoying spending more time speachless and less time disappointed these days!

When he got caught and fumbled that goal, he was the Milney of old, trying to do it on his own and not passing it on.

But those 3 goals in the last quarter were pure Milne magic. Love the boy, thank god we didn't trade him.

Ok, so occasionally he makes a decision that doesn't come off for him, but they pale into insignificance when viewed alongside the many wonderful things he does.
He is far too maligned by supporters who can't be pleased by whatever he does. If he plays on, or decides to go for a freak goal himself and it doesn't work: he's selfish. If on the other hand, he passes it off and that doesn't work, then why didn't he have a go? Poor guy can't win.
As far as I'm concerned he's brilliant. I love him.

I love the Milne!!! One of my favourite players. Passion. Freakish skills and any small forward that averages two goals a game for 200 games is an automatic inclusion. Has rounded his game out under Lyon to become more team oriented. Love the way he goes about it. And to think the Bummers rookied him and let him go. What a shame.

If I may, I would like to disagree. Take a look at the the younger saints fans and you will find that #44 would be 3rd, only behind #12 & #26 on their jumpers !!

Anyone who still thinks that Milney's workrate is not up to scratch needs to watch games a LOT more closely

Yep...He'll do some things like his attempted run into goal yesterday...but who else would have made such sweet contact with that soccer goal to send us all into raptures? Who else has kicked 11.0 in a game for us?

Go and ask Carlton and Collingwood fans..I bet they can tell you just as many brainfade stories on Betts/Davis/Medhurst

Milney is currently the elite small forward of the competition IMO

Don't know about "the" elite small forward in the comp. Is certainly in amongst that group along with Steve Johnson. Betts and Rioli are also up there but don't have the career long consistency of Milney.

You have obviously never heard of Cyril Rioli.

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

if cyril rioli can sustain a 150 game career consistently averaging 2 goals a game and 1.5 goal assists i'll give him credit.
