what was wrong with kosi?

Post: # 740407Post Solar »

was this the reason why armo warmed up? kosi looked very short of a gallop today, looked very sick.

Anyone got any ideas? Almost struggled to kick at goal in that first quarter.

also interesting that he was played as the loose CHB during the match.

Yeah, I thought so too particularly after one leading mark that he missed in the first. Having said that h e went on to kick 4 so he obviously got ove whatever it was!

I thought Kosi more than did his bit.

Took some strong marks.
Created panic in the Essendon defence.
Gave us a target.
Kicked four goals.
And could easily have kicked six.

Was sandwiched and crunched in a marking contest early and spent quite some time in the hands of the trainers

4 goals, plus a contest, plus another in Q1 he should have kicked - 774 gave him BOG which I am not sure about but he looked OK[/quote]

Any forward that kicks four goals has done his job!

thought he played really well, though in the first quarter he looked very slow at stages, looked incapable of making a half decent chase at any point. But he played well, and if we were to complain about his performance, we are expecting too much

You have to understand he has had a fair share of not so positive threads in the past...but hey, people have Gwilt to pick on now

the guy is very athletic and yet struggled to swing on his left and kick a goal in the first quarter. All of us looked at each other and said "sheesh kosi doesn't look right" then spent a long time over a kick for goal (nice kick, maybe needs to do this more often).

Was also curious on why armo warmed up?

anyway the big guy was very effective

There were two things that I saw. In the first quarter, whether due to some incident or something brought into the game, he appeared out of breath after about twenty minutes - hence the poor kick as described above. But he seemed to come good, although he did no ruck work.

There was collision between him and an Essendon player (2nd quarter?) where both went to ground, and that took much out of him as well, perhaps leading to the thigh problem. But, he saw the game out and didn't look distressed at the end. So, who knows?

Looked good to me. Dont even understand why anyone would say this especially after he did so well.

Agree a bit - except people are worried about Kosi b/c of his history and the fact that him playing well is so important to uo.

Both Pears and Kosi got up very sore after a marking contest when McPhee got back to help out.
(See my comment on opponents lack of respect for Gwilt at http://www.saintsational.com/forum/view ... c&start=25)

I would suspect it was a corky.

I noticed in the first quarter that he looked puffy around the eyes.

I would say he went in with a bit of a virus which affected his stamina.
Didn't affect his kicking though, best I've ever seen him kick.

We too saw this first quarter looked like his groin was sore, to us he didnt look quiet right.
By the way Im not Kosi bashing because he went on t o kick some great goals and I love the way he plays, just an observation by us and others around us.

I dont know if anyone knows why, but Luke Ball when straight down to the rooms at the first siren, ran to the bench and just kept running. Only had 3 on the bench for the first couple of minutes and then he returned and did a lot of stretching and did not sit with the other boys but with some kind of club official? Maybe that is why Armo warmed up?

Maybe this year?

That sounds more likely why armo warmed up, hope Bally is feeling well.

strange because people around me commented on his condition in the first quarter. several on here have confirmed this with their views.

If you actually read the posts you will relise that I said he still played very well. seriously mate do you actually read or just write whatever comes to your head.

Thanks to others re: ball, makes sense

Also noticed Kosi bent over double for ages when they went into the changerooms at the end of the game- almost as if he was vomiting. I was wondering what was going on. He did have a corky, a massive bruise developed on the front of his thigh. Didn't hold him back though, the champ.
