In Hindsight
In hindsight, should we have rested a few players who played Monday.
Say bring in Raph and Armitage even Eddy for say Gwilt, who I thought was terrific in the last quarter when the pressure was really on, Geary and maybe someone else.
Personally I believe the difference in break time robbed us of about 6 goals.

So you would have, In hindsight, rested one of the only guys who actually did run to make position and be an option? Gwilt gave us a target on many occasions tonight by being the only one willing to lead. If others had done the same thing we wouldnt have been pinned in the back half as often in the second half.
Whipping boy of the highest order.
Best game he has played for the club IMO.

I did say that Gwilt was terrific tonight when it mattered in the last quarter, what I'm trying to say that if we had our time again, would we have deliberately rested some players and utilised our depth so that the 6 day break would not have been as big a factor.
Gwilt should maintain his place, despite Goose's great form at Sandy.

Don't you people realise Gwilt is the current whipping boy on this site? He is supposed to be given the flick because he doesn't kick enough goals, take enough high marks, blah, blah, blah.
Oh we're supposed to bring in Matt Maguire who has hardly played in two years and who couldn't do the job assigned to the whipping boy, anyway.
FFFS!

I still believe that king should have been given another week and macca given another game. Would have given us a little more flexibility with our talls IMO

It's not about who is the whipping boy..... it's about the fact that someone is putting pressure on from the twos.
Much as I like Gwilt and thought he deserved a goal tonight for his efforts, the fact is he plays as a half forward and has only kicked 3 goals for the year, whilst the 99 AFL-gamer coming back from injury who is playing in the 2s in the exact same spot has kicked 5 two games running.
It is hardly surprising that there are questions being asked about his place.
I can see it both ways. To be honest I don't really see Goose as an AFL half forward so I doubt that he will displace him. On the other hand out of Goose, Raph and Gwilt it is obvious in my mind that Raph and Goose have the greater talent so I would not be surprised for the selection panel to find a way to add them in to the mix.
