Five short weeks coming up

Post: # 739172Post Enrico_Misso »

R7 Monday night
R8 Sunday twilight Gap =6 days
R9 Sun arvo Gap = 6.5 days
R10 Sat night Gap = 6.5 days
R11 Sat arvo Gap = 6.5 days
R12 Fri night Gap = 6.5 days
then a 16 day break to the big Tigers game.

Without getting too hung up on the 6.5 days definition.
The point is the next 5 weeks are all less than 7 days
as the AFL progressively work us back 3 full days to a Fri night slot.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

A more compelling stat is that by Rd 9 we will have played EVERY non-Victorian based club and played only ONE HOME GAME v Another Victorian based club (Ess, Rd 8) !!

Gee, I hope 16 days is enough time to prepare for the juggernaut that is the Richmond Tigers.

No I can't prove it and it probably is an overreaction. I think our draw with 5 Sunday twilight games for the year and facing so many interstate opponents so early has not helped us make any money though. It's just as well we're winning as our financial position would have been diabolical.

Essendon was on a 9 day break.
May explain why their pace seemed extra sharp.
