R3 update - We are now 4 goals ahead so far
At the AGM Ross promised a more attractive and attacking style of footy.
He said his aim was to increase our average score by 2 goals a game.
Up from 14 to 16.
12 last night (though we only played 3 quarters).
Mind you if the 3rd quarter is the sign of things to come I would be more than pleased !

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: We are 4 goals behind so far
You should be pleased then as we are 6 in front of this time last year.Enrico_Misso wrote:At the AGM Ross promised a more attractive and attacking style of footy.

12 last night.
Only 6 last year.
So we are actually +4 on what RL indicated... and not -4 as per the title of your OP......

and a sample size of 1 is not conclusive
I will, however, keep tabs on this statistic as the season unfolds.

Playing Sydney so I would suggest we are 6 goals in front of our average......Enrico_Misso wrote:At the AGM Ross promised a more attractive and attacking style of footy.

Bump
After 3 Rounds we are now 4 Goals ahead of the 16 goal average.
There seems to be a real effort to play more attacking and "watchable" footy.
Ross in his presser tonight was begging supporters to sign up and turn up.
Looks like he has decided (been pressured ?) to try and bring fans back.
Is it a genuine desire, or a response to the GFC (Global financial crisis or Geelong footy club - take your pick) ??

Marketing is essential in the current AFL to be cmpetitive in the longer term.Cairnsman wrote:who gives a F*** about marketing we won.......
Greta to win a game but if we are well marketed, sponsorship grows, the club grows and gets more bums on seats at the ground.
This will provide better TV deals, and ground deals with the afl. Ultimately this means more wins.
Marketing is a must nowadays.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
