Thinking on something Buckley said last night. With the increase in zonal defences it's going to be increasingly rare for a ff to have space to lead into. Less and less teams are going to give up that space in the forward 50 and more often there will be a player defending that zone.
Traditional lead up forwards (Gehrig etc) are going to be less useful and it got me thinking on Kosi. Doesn't the modern game play right into his hands?
He's not great on the lead but fantastic overhead in tight contests.
Could, what some thought to be a tall throwback to a bygone era of footy (too slow etc.) actually be exactly what will make us a power in the next few years?
It was interesting last night that Roo made few of his trademark gut busting leads into space to burn off a tag.
Modern Game Suits Kosi
