The Who got it right...
"We don't get fooled again"?! Like a few others I saw the piece in the Age by Wobert Balls.
I'm yet to see the Saints win a flag, but this season its possible (as it is for 15 other clubs at this stage) I believe until its IMPOSSIBLE that all things are possible.
I'm yet to see ANY club win a flag by believing what an "expert" thinks after round one.
The article makes for interesting (and encouraging!) reading on a friday morning while eating my toast....thats about it I'm afraid as far as adding one iota to our prospects for the year.
I've been caught up too many times by April madness(ask Mrs Jigging ) I'm ready to give the Sainters my "all" ( ) but I'm taking it a game at a time..my advice to anyone interested is to take what the worthy Wobert, Mike Shehan et al say with a liberal pinch of healthy sceptical salt!
IF we are to win the flag it will be on the field and in the coaches box (AND the medical department!) NOT in the pages of the press or the airwaves.
Sermon over folks! Lets Ka-POW those crows t'neet!
Love to all
Dave

As if!
As if the club is going to pin it's hopes on an article from Walls.
He stated that we are ready to challenge... and I for one agree with him. Whether or not we take it, is another story.
I don't recall reading that he predicted we'll win.
As for this shyte talk about pumping his own tyres... get a grip.
If the guy bags us, then he's clueless. If he writes something positive, he still get's bagged.
Surely supporters have enough sense to not pin their hopes onthe media? MAybe not.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

the who also said:
"don't cry/ don't raise your eye/ it's only teenage wasteland"
which i believe was referring to carlton's faith in youth. and:
"every day you'll see the dust/ as i drive my baby in my magic bus"
which refers to the metaphorical "bus" on which the saints march in. and:
"that deaf, dumb and blind kid/ sure plays a mean pinball"
which is for sure a raph clarke reference.

As Pete Townshend was (and, as far as I know, still is) a follower of the original MB, I tend to think The Who were right about a lot of things.
That said, ol' Pete should never have looked at that kiddie porn.
And (like Pete himself), I'm long past thinking "hope I die before I get old".
On the other hand, I do "look pretty young" cause "I'm just backdated".
As for the idea of not getting fooled again: one really good way of not getting fooled is to pay no attention to anything Wallsy says or writes.
Anyway, enough of this stream of consciousness. I think it's time for me to go and hurl a stream of verbal abuse at a flight attendant.
