BROWNLOW medallist and respected commentator Gerard Healy said yesterday Ben Cousins was keen to play for another five years if the AFL gave him the green light to resume his career.
Healy, who spoke to Cousins in Melbourne recently, said the 30-year-old appeared sound of mind and body and determined to reignite his career.
"I thought he was pretty good, pretty healthy," Healy said.
"He's in as good a spot as he can be.
"I understand where he is, what problems he's got and they are going to be with him for the rest of his life.
"But from a football perspective I don't see him being any different than Barry Cable coming over to North Melbourne in the 1970s when I think he was 32."
