Feel free to trump me on these ones. Going borderline on a few guys like Tuck, Madden, Ayres and Watson that were also around before the cut off date, but retired some time after 1990.

My suggestions for improvements to your guys in brackets. Filled in most of the blanks. 16 and 28 are tough. I think it's a pretty comprehensive list, I've mostly ignored players with less than 200 games.

1. S. Silvagni
2. G Williams
3. M. Voss
4. A Lockett
5. G. Ablett
6. B. Johnson
7. N. Winmar (D. Hawkins, S. West, P. Couch, G. Ayres)
8. D. Bewick
9. B. Cousins (S. Crawford)
10. P. Everitt (G. O'Donnell)
11. G. Archer
12. M. Richardson (J. Akermanis, N. Riewoldt)
13. M. Long
14. P. Kelly (L. Darcy)
15. P. Riccardi (M. Michael)
16.
17. G. Mckenna (Tuck)
18. W. Carey
19. J. Dunstall
20. D. Cox (S. Black)
21. C. Bradley
22. T. Shaw
23. D. Brereton (A Mcleod, S. Loewe, J. Leppitsch)
24. C. Langford (J. Worsfold)
25. S. Lucas (B. Hall at St. K)
26. M. Bickley (N. Dal Santo, G. Brown, M. Thompson)
27. S. Madden (G. Jakovich)
28.
29. M. Pavlich
30. P Matera
31. D. Fletcher (C. McKernan)
32. M. Riccuttio (T. Watson, G. Hocking)
33. M. Knights
34. J. White (D. King)
35. R. Harvey
36. S. Goodwin
37. A. Goodes
38.
39.
40 T. Schwarze (As long as that goal vs Brisbane stays in my memory!)
41. T. Pekin
42.
43. A. Koutoufides
44. J. Platten (N. Lappin)

i'd already put Riewoldt ahead of Richo

i think Richo's only won 1 B&F (last year?) and Roo's already won 3 B&F's, and in a much stronger team mind you

Perhaps M Capuano ( at North) at 16?
Sorry should have been S Goodwin my bad.
Would probably have G Brown before Bickley and O'Donnell in front of Everitt and Javocich over MAdden due to time frame

There were a lot of great #3's #4's and #5's - Might have a go at rating them at some stage.

Yes, that was rather cheeky of me.

Try, Kane Johnson in his Adelaide days. Two time premiership player.

I would argue Plugger was the best player to wear the #14. He had that number the year he kicked his first ton and won the Brownlow.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Just by reading this, how could Akermanis not be the best number 12. A brownlow and three premierships absolutely dwarves anything Richo or Roo have accomplished in their careers. We constantly talk about how good Harves is for his two Brownlows and longevity, let's not think he would love that resume.

Applied a 'dream team' formula to stats of the last 20 years (propped goals up to 9 so Plugger beat Daniel Cross into the number 4 spot).. here's what I got (50 games min.)

Code: Select all

guernsey player average games
-------- ------------------- -------- ------
       1 Peter Everitt 93.0833 72
       2 Greg Williams 89.5674 178
       3 Mark Bairstow 93.9403 134
       4 Tony Lockett 101.4919 185
       5 Gary Ablett snr 103.2240 183
       6 Brad Johnson 92.5310 290
       7 Nathan Brown 91.6078 51
       8 Daryn Cresswell 88.1371 197
       9 Shane Crawford 88.6495 291

Just goes to show that while DT stats are a decent indication, they're not the answer to all "best player" arguments.

Voss vs Bairstow
Everitt vs Silvagni
Loewe vs Brereton

Should add some points for "premierships played in" and maybe that will even the scores a bit.
