Didn't Ross "The Boss" Oakley retire early because of injury?

Rod Owen anyone?
Debuted same year (but a few rounds earlier than Plugger). Remember him kicking 5 goals in the first quarter against North in 88. Not bad for a guy who was 185 cm and never the same after he did his knee as a 16 year old.

For me it would have to be Dean Rice,
One of the best wingman going around, fast, tough, and in an era against the likes of Dipper, Greg Williams and Robbie Flower, he was right up there.
after the knee injury, the Saints dropped him like a dirty dog, but the faith and patience showed by Carlton saw him stand on the dias GF day
sad for saints fans but good for him
