Daniel Connors #39 Richmond Tigers
Age: 19yr 2mth Games: 4 Born: September 22, 1988
Height: 184cm Weight: 80kg Position: Midfield

So that gives as 2 mids a ruck and a KPP from our 4....soa good balance.

Would like to see one of our rookies now to bea FB type.

Interesting to see so many saints fans writing off Connors only minutes after he has become a saint.

I can see why most are concerned about his height and weight given that he will be required to play centre half back in round 1 2008.

It's quite obvious the kid is a long term prospect, and it may work, it may not, but at pick 70 it's worth the risk.

Kade Simpson was drafted to Carlton at 67 kgs, 182cm, didn't get a possession in his first three games and he is now among their top players and in their leadership group.

If you can play, you can play, regardless of weight, height, or whatever.

Good luck to him, I hope he becomes a star.

First of all, do i have to look up the whippersnapper dictionary to find out what 'embar' is?

Secondly, "we" are not calling for his head, it's just rooandkosi, the rest of us sane individuals realise that it's Pick 70 which would otherwise have been a PSD pick, probably for someone like Guy Richards, who we don't need anymore we have our ruck situation nicely sorted.

at pick 70, we are better off going with someone like Eljay, in my opinion, than a good honest tryer who battled well through the juniors... It sounds like Eljay is very skillful, quick, and doesnt mind getting in packs... Thats the hard part done.. The issue of his size (weight, his height is not an issue) is nothing... putting on kilo's is the easy part... If he's got the essentials covered, which he seemingly has, then there is an upside worth gamling with, particularly at pick 70...

Im excited by the selection, and hope he succeeds... good draft imo..

I like the idea of taking a punt on a bottom age draftee who hasn't played due to injury. There are many unknowns, and we might just come out with a winner. A much better risk vs reward bet compared to smokies from regional leagues who haven't been through the TAC system at all.

he sounds a lot like Leigh Montagna when he was drafted.

Sounds like he might need a couple of years to break into the seniors and then another couple to really find his feet - a la Joey.
