Don't know as yet.

We really could go either way. A huge pre-season will be required, that's for sure.

That's what we thought about 2007. And 2006, and 2005

Are people forgetting that we will have Goddard back in 2008?

That's pretty damn exciting, if he can recapture his 2006 form

generally takes 12mths or so to get somewhere near best.

Rare to come straight back to the form shown prior.

more likely to have a bigger impact 2009 if everything goes ok in 2008.

Was he playing at his best in 2006?

If not, less of a mountain to climb to get to that level

So should get at least to that level in the second half of 2008

2009 his career-best form begins

i hope this forum does not jump straight back on the goddard bashing..

in my opinion (if he is struggling with his knee/taking a while at getting back into it) .... he should play as the third tall/in the forward pocket as he is very valuable with his strong body, good mark and powerful kick

and which knee did he do??? and would this hamper his kicking if he did do the knee that he kicks with?

Knee surgery is good enough these days to not hamper kicking or running in any way. Mainly, getting the knee strong again, and the psychological factor (dealing with the fear of re-injuring it) is why players tend to take a good few months to go back to anywhere near their best. Having said that, I think players of BJ's variety (the flanker/3rd tall types) can come back the easiest, as they are rarely in contested marking situations and are also rarely required to play as an inside midfielder...
