Yep.

Whatever you thought before, they are now our new board.

I hope they take us forward and build on the success of the Butterss years.

Good luck to them.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Yes I wish then good luck too...

However FF have come to power on a platform of being nothing less than exceptional...

An average performance is not good enough....and so they will need a lot more than good luck....they are going to have work their butts off and then some...

2008 will largely still be delivered upon what RB's Board has already delivered and put in place....

2009 and beyond will be for Wstaway and Co.

NEVER before in the histoty of the Saints has a Board come into power with such a favourable foundation;** Good list...potentially great list

** New fitness and conditioning team led by the best in the business...Misson, Ross Smith and the AIS guys...

** By Saints standards a large membership...and ceratainly much larger than any other incoming Board has ever had

**Head Coach one year into the job...and well established (witnessed by the team getting into the swing of his gameplan later in the season)

Now yes by comparison to some clubs they are behind....but by Saints standards they have a huge head start......they havea huge opportunity.

Lets all hope that they are as good as they have said they will be.

Our role as members is to:

*support them in their endeavours
*to keep them accountable to their promises

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....

There will be no honeymoon period for this board.

By the end of the 2008/09 financial year, I would expect revenue growth and improvements to the areas outlined by St Kilda Footy First.

Hopefully they hit the ground running.

But things are in good shape for the next six months.

Yes in 12 months in each case we have hopefully moved to an improvement.

RL is an improvement on GT....BUT not just for 1 on 1 comparions but also because it allowed a more football department structure to be deployed.

FF will also hopefully be an improvement on RB's Board.....this is the platform that FF ran on...that they will deliver more.....BOTH with respect to the Football Department but also with respect to Members themselves.

But will FF be a Beetham...ora Judd?? we will have to wait and see.

To GW and the new Board.

You have inherited control over our passions.

Please treat them with care and respect.

Our wish is to spend a decade in the top echelons of the AFL, and reap the rewards of a couple of premierships on the way.

You have been entrusted with the sacred object, Our Club. Treat it properly, and you will forever have our support.

Treat it carelessly, and we will turn on you.

Such is our nature.

Not that argument.

The one where any success the following year was to be attributed to the outgoing.

I think Archie Fraser will be retained for at least the following 12 months, provided he acts in line with the new board's wishes.

Ken Sheldon's position will be reviewed I suspect - not sure about outcome.

I suspect David Friend's consultancy firm will be hired and put in charge of membership and marketing again.

Given Justin Morley's apparent connection with SFF I reckon that's a pretty safe bet.

What then happens to Ben Hall?

Ok then Rodger...explain to me how the Board can have INSTANT effects????

GW is on record as saying that they will develop their plans AFTER they are in and have examined the books etc....they will need time to make changes and to enact things.

For example...how will FF greatly advantage us in this current trade period and draft period...the one which will affect us in 2008? Answer is that they will not. Whatever changes they make to our recruiting department will not have IMPACT till NEXT Years draft...

For many of their other muted changes GREATER than what the RB Board would have done they firstly have to have some time to EARN the extra $$$$$.

Irrespective of how good the FF ticket may be...a large part of what we achieve in 2008 will be due to the RB Board...and not the GW Board......unless of course GW has a magic wand????

About the only thing that they can instantly deliver is hopefully more stabilty and removing the infighting....and RB by falling on his sword has assisted FF in the first steps in this direction.

FF will need time to get their new resources deployed....including time to actually earn some extra income to pay for the extra resources.
