Hunter Clark injured

Post: # 2041876Post D.B.Cooper »

Poor guy, another facial fracture at training in match sim (on AFL website).

Orbital bone (just under the eye).

Hopeful it is not too serious and for a speedy recovery.

Geeez that sucks. Not meaning to be cheeky but he just can’t get a break.

Pbly the single player on the list that would take us up a grade with him if he got close to his potential.

Any idea how long the recovery is?

On Saints.com that he is undertaking the concussion protocol - the fracture they say is ok.
Monitoring him at present likely 2 weeks

Makes me now wonder if he may end up having his career shortened if he continues getting head knocks/concussions.
Wouldn’t wish it on anyone , and agree he can’t get a good run

Tough luck

I always felt that he needs to set his posture and position which protects his head. I felt that he always leans in which exposes his head more during in-close situations.

The club really needs to do some work on this.

Crouch adding aggression to his repertoire?Unfortunate dress rehersal.
Clark is a special player and as fair dinkum as they come. Wish him well.

Time for Hunter to wear some sort of face mask like I saw the Australian goalkeeper wearing during the recent Asian cup

Didn't this happen last week (or even the week before)?

As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Took awhile for the club to release an injury update.

Will the Saints ever be classed as a good club ?

This has happened too many times for it to be just bad luck or coincidence....

What else could multiple impact injuries be apart from bad luck or coincidence? Weak bones? Not enough Calcium?

This one actually does seem like proper bad luck. Not much you can do about a stray elbow.

I’ve wondered at times RE some of the other head injuries if technique plays a part e.g. is he protecting himself well enough. Not suggesting… just wondering

You all know the person who has been in 5+ car crashes, none of them their fault. It's always another driver.

Sometimes just doing what's lawful and written isn't enough, you need an instinct for avoiding trouble.

Have you ever thought it may be a technique problem?

The Mackay one is nothing to do with technique, he broke his nose in a head clash with butler which could have been from leading with the head but this weeks is a stray elbow, can’t see how that is a technique issue.
