Are we still keen on Ben King?

Post: # 2041325Post Sainternist »

Yet another injury setback for him. We used to be annoyed with the pesky GCS renewing his contract to stay up North, but perhaps it was for the better. I think the only game I saw him play last year was the one against us and he looked really ordinary that day. I’d hate to know what we’d have to give up for him, if he was going to be reunited with Max 😬

This has to be their breakout year .
Both Kings have shown allota potential.
Max has to become a week in week out gun up forward .
If he's going to have another injury plagued season or one where he's outstanding in half a dozen games but lacklustre in the rest , then you'd have to think he's never going to fulfil his potential

Why is Ben King visibly bigger than Max?

And yes

Definitely

One had an injury which limited upper body weights but not running.

The other had one that limited running but not upper body weights.

Fingers crossed Ben re-signs with the Hardwicks, potentially the Kings are very good players, but,
they just need to be able to stay on the park and show us all what they can do. If we had both of them
that's a big chunk of the cap spent on 2 players that struggle to stay fit.

Let's see what Mr Dalrymple thinks about having 2 of them in the team.

Will the Saints ever be classed as a good club ?

A neighbor friend of mine who is the doctor at an AFL Club told me that players tend to lose a bit of agility, fitness, form and confidence in their bodies every time they get an injury, especially the soft tissue type.

He suggested that injury prone players are unlikely to have long and successful careers. On that basis, I'd be very cautious with Ben King.

Perhaps this is the reason the Saints let Billings go, and why we should never have recruited Hanaberry. Or why Zac Jones and Jack Hayes may have limited time.

Yes Chris Judd struggled.
