I'm guessing that you don't watch many Port games.
Lycett, though not "A" grade but definitely not "D" grade, would be a handy get...although if we're picking delisted Port rucks, I'd rather Teakle (younger).
Only real issue is that he's now a bit injury prone.
More often than not, Port played better when he was fit and in the team.

I'm not suggesting that we get him when there are better options available.
It's clear that he'd be cover for Marshall because if he goes down, then we are up the proverbial creek.
Nobody here seems to like Campbell even though his last game for us was pretty good. Heath is not ready by a long shot.
We need insurance...but his body is letting him down. He is not the answer.
And, as far as I know, Lycett retired as Port are looking to the future for rucks...And he was out of contract.
You could also argue why Port let Ryder go as the steak knives for Dougal Howard.

Yes I think they look at Lachie O, or at least have him do pre-season

I agree with your assessment but not this logic.
Plenty of players have done well post being delisted or traded cheaply.
