Jacob Koschitzke
Out of contact.
Been playing as a forward but we could do worse than picking him up as another genuine tall back man.

Now 23 years old and 198cm.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
He'd be a good pickup. A bit like Jake Carlisle in a lot of ways.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Why wouldn't Hawthorn be playing him there then? Not like they have a solid back 6 like us.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
They have been playing him.
As a forward. Tough gig in their side. They want him to stay too fwiw.
I like that he is very strong in 1 on 1 contests and a good mark.
Would free Howard up to be a bit more aggressive in his positioning and focus on intercepting, being 3rd man up.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
I don’t rate him at all.
Would rather get games into Sharman & Camaniti than look at him.
I think a lot of the fascination derives from his surname.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
If rumours that Dougal Howard is destined to go to the Swans are correct then signing Jacob Koschitzke to play full back makes a lot of sense.
As good as Callum Wilkie is, the side defintely needs a big strong FB in the molds of Steven May and Jacob Weitering who have dominated for their teams this year. Koschitzke is a similar size and at 23 he's ready to have a break-out season.
A St Kilda backline with Koschitzke, Battle and Wilkie would be awesome!

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Would be a speculative pick and an immediate downgrade from Howard. If the swans talk is true I'd want to come out of both trades with at least a 1 round pick upgrade in hand.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
I don't see it as either or. Regarding the other posts- sharman and Hammer aren't being looked at as backs.
Kosi changes the look of our backline significantly.
Coffield/Stocker, Wilkie, Howard
Sinclair, Battle, Milera
Vs
Battle, Kosi, Wilkie
Sinclair, Howard, Milera.
My main point being- Howard is better at CHB than at FB. Kosi would provide that freedom.
If you think about the Lions forward line.
Kosi goes to Daniher, Wilkie goes to hipwood, Howard becomes the interceptor/3rd man up

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
J Kosi is not a fullback is he?
So it would be an experiment.
Might as well keep Howard.
Sounds like a pointless recruitment.
We need two outside mids.

I’d rather play Caminiti back
Reckon his mongrel and mobility could be good

Not a bad young player
Marginally better than Caminiti
Worth recruiting? Maybe not

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Caminiti has only had one season. Yet to have a full preseason too.
No guarantees.
Hopefully he stamps those bad habits out of his game.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
If he is out of contract why not lets be positive he would fit in well and could be a real swing man if needed.
He has games under his belt and in our program I really think he would thrive.
Lets also look at Chol he wonts out of GC now that Hardwick is back not best of mates he knows what he is like.
Chol is 200 cm and 26 year old can play forward or KPF,KPD is in contract but if he wonts out and GC are happy for him to go then we should try

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Bringing in players who couldn't make it at other clubs is a reason we are stuck in the 6-10 zone.
Not interested in any of the players mentioned here.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Chol is an athletic freak, the knock on him at GCS is his lack of competitiveness and physicality.
Koschitzke is a butt average KPP and couldn’t get a regular game at Hawthorn this season. He has also barely played as a key defender so picking him as our Howard replacement is premature and left of field to say the least.
No to both for me.

Re: Jacob Koschitzke
Again Kosi is playing football for hawthorn. 12 games this year and coming up to his 50th at 23 years old.
They want him to stay.
This isn't the case of suggesting someone like Bytel who has been delisted.

Yes D.B.C, don’t want a repeat of the Goddard surname do we?D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Sat 16 Sep 2023 5:28pm I don’t rate him at all.
