Who was Indigenous player on our list that was captain?

Because we’ve clearly found our next one!

This kid is an absolute gun and has been the biggest highlight of our season for mine. He’s come on in such leaps and bounds.

One of the best users of the ball
Good defensive game
Composed, excellent decision making
Takes the play on
Excellent in the air both in terms of spoiling and marking
Kicks goals

More impressive then all of that… NWM has shown up to play close to every game of the year this season and has consistently featured amongst our best in the second half of the season as well as featuring in most people’s votes again today. I don’t know enough about his personality to really hazard a guess as to whether or not he’s really captaincy material…
But IMO he’s the most exciting prospect we’ve had on our list for an age it feels like.

Gun

His consistency this early in his career has been extraordinary.
He just doesn’t seem to make mistakes.
Amazing year. In our top 5 best players now.

Thought he fought his way into the game beautifully. Doing the number absolute justice.

Always great celebrating our best players and this kid has had a great year and more importantly, has enormous upside.

He'll get quicker with his decision making.

He'll get better with his accuracy.

He's probably still growing height wise and of course he'll get stronger and he'll win more 1-1 contests.

Not sure if being indigenous has anything to do with op content even though you've decided to include that in your subject headline

NWM, very good player. Will be elite if he isn't already, but I think Windhager might be captain down the track.

Have loved watching Nas’ progress. Absolute gun. Not sure if he’ll be captaincy material, but you never know.

It really doesn’t…
I was just looking for a hook to draw the reader. Not my best work.

No worries skeptic.

I think the fact that Nas showed so much poise and grit and hunger today is a good sign that he definitely has leadership qualities...so good thread...

And...Great picture you posted too 😀

That goal before 3 quarter time was just spectacular.

all year that's been missing from his game - the confidence to take the shot from distance. let's hope we see a lot more of it. the lad started nervous yesterday but once he settled he was all class.
son't think he's captain material - looks far too shy an individual, but no doubt he'll be an inspiration on field to his team mates, if he isn't already.

Once they pull on a St Kilda guernsey I don't care about their race, or whether they are a bogan, they are part of MY TEAM.
I will judge them only based on performance.
If one day he becomes captain he will become captain of MY TEAM.

When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Did Nicky Winmar ever stand in as captain for a day ?

This - if you've ever met him in person he's not that 'captain' type, then again neither was Banger and he did alright. My guess is Wilks or Roma will be next in line.
