I don't see a mass exodus coming. Throwing out 10 players in on off season when you have potentially 3 reasonable draft picks to use seems a bit odd to me.

Unless the club has a couple of big deals in the works that require $$$, then offloading the likes of Billings, Membrey, or Howard (all on biggish contracts) is 50/50

Gresham may be after a lot of cash somewhere else, so it's a distinct possibility he leaves

As for delistings, I see

Campbell
Bytel
Connolly
Highmore (out of contract)

I suspect we'll offer up Paton for a fourth rounder to any taker

If really good offers come in, then maybe Billings and Membrey

So, for me it's

Gresham
Campbell
Connolly
Highmore
Paton

Agree with Silvagni‘s past, been pretty poor. But thus far for us, he’s credited with Stocker and Caminiti.
Not bad either of them.

Stocker joined us a couple of months before Silvagni, so no he didn’t get him on board.

It was reported SOS was speaking with Jack after an internal practice match including the Carlton VFL squad where Hammer was playing.

Jack told dad that Camaniti played well on Weitering in the match. On the basis of this conversation Hammer was invited to training and the rest is history 👍.

Perhaps we have the wrong Silvagni in list management? 😉

It really depends on whether the club is successful in trading in players and in gaining any free agents.

If the club is active in that which is wat Stavro on Bigfooty is suggesting the club is trying to do, and probably where the "hearing" in the OP came from, then some players will need to go.

Especially as the club also reportedly wants to also keep adding more young draftees to what we have recently gained. So that means extra draft picks would be desired.

So we need more list spots to bring in players/picks.

But we also would need to let some players go, if that is going to happen.

The main trouble with all of that is I am not sure we have a lot of players that we can trade out, or FA out, for a useful return.

A hypothetical would be say Mackay as a FA, freeing up Howard to be traded. Not saying it will happen, it is just an example of how our list could be improved. A lot harder to achieve, than say of course!

Roos & Hawks do mass exodii. We are in the 8.
We do selective pruning.
A Gresham here, a Jones there. Just a snip of Bytel. And there will be natural culling, maybe a Ross and the seldom flowering DMac.

We are in the eight and it has been a successful season.
Why we would we want to radically prune the list?
Another year of drafting and a careful selection of trade/ free agent will top us up well.

Yep, some crazy suggestions in this thread. Culling as suggested in the OP
would set us back 5 years and lead to RBT being sacked.

Happy with all the outs except for Adam’s, Clark and Coffield. If Clark and Coffield goes then Paton will be off as well as they all good friends.

Might as well have added any free agent and any other kid looking to leave their club to the IN list.

Is Oscar Adams as a player on par with Oscar Clavarino ?

If yes then he won't ever give us much.
If he's not delisted this year then 2024 might be his last year, unless RTB uses him as Howard's replacement and he turns into a gun backman.

And, pray tell, what number Draft Picks were Billings, Clark, Coffield and Gresham - who have each battled severe injury disruptions across their careers?

Glancing at the abject rubbish on here it is no wonder St Kilda FC has won just the one premiership in 150 years

The guy who introduced me to St Kilda when I came to Melbourne to live has a bit to answer for!!!

However he is unfortunately no longer with us

Our needs are support for Marshall around the ground, support for Howard and adding some cream to our midfield (and, in regards our midfield we are in no different position to every other Club)

The problem which has found Claravino out is his abilities at ground level - and otherwise a lack of weight

Adams, in his first season of senior football after the disruptions of last year, does not have those deficiencies

Adams is improving by the week, noting the Coaching knock on him last week (and I thought he played well but obviously expectations are rising)

In regards support for King, Caminiti and Sharman offer a fix for that deficiency so we trust their development continues

What do you mean by "is what I'm hearing" BM????

This is the greatest load of rubbisb I've read on this forum for a long time, it has absolutely no credibility whatsoever - I think you just enjoy taking a perverse delight in baiting everyone....

Why anyone has bothered to take your bait beats me

A wasted post!

Exactly, if BM thought there was any basis to it, he'd be on here defending it.

I respect your opinion a lot of the time & like the majority of this post with the exception of your thoughts on Paton.

I don't ever recall him being lit up to the tune of six goals. With so many dangerous small forwards on lists these days, I think he's a keeper. The man just needs to understand his limitations, as Coach Clint alluded.

I agree. Would like to see us persist in still developing those two, as they’ve both shown plenty of potential.

Ross Lyon was on SEN this morning. Made it clear that our focus will be the draft and that midfielders are the priority. He indicated that he thought we were in good shape in attack and defence, hence the focus on the glaring deficiency that many of on here have been banging on about for many months

Some want to give us the boot!

Don’t bulls*** a bullshitter, Martin.

Your overall numbers look way off.

Same as the Carlton ins.

Silvagni?

Really? :D

Notwithstanding you will probably get a few right, I’m calling BS on your OP.

I’d keep Coff and Clark , but I wouldn’t be overly sad to see the arse end of most of those.

Group the others up and send them to North or GC for a few picks

I’d be amazed if we end up with Dow as he’s not what we need, especially if Ross goes round again.

There will be plenty of list changes but not this many.

You have to look at who comes in. We shouldnt entertain training duds for duds..

Got a few rookies to elevate plus 3 draft picks.

Tend to agree, throw enough darts, some will score. Then we have the, "I told you." & ""Something changed."

No one would be surprised if any of those players were not at St Kilda next year. I think we'd all be surprised, except B.M, if all weren't.

Firstly in my view is that you look at the progression of our younger players and them demanding opportunity at the level

So we speak of the likes of Peris, Heath, Hotton, Adams, Keeler and Van Es

If these kids progress as we hope, whose places do they take?

Then who we Draft ahead of 2024

Then we see the likes of Coffield re establishing at the level - so taking someone else’s position

It may be that the injury status of Jones and McKenzie impacts on THEIR decision to recommit

Then you get to the journeyman Campbell, seeing Heath and Keeler going past him

Past that and in the same position seeing young players going past them are the likes of Connolly, Bytel, Highmore

So there is up to 6, noting 2 will be by their own decision

If they do not make that decision then another couple will be at risk

Sniffing the wind and wondering where a League side game may come from

I would not be looking at anyone who is not a Free Agent because to do otherwise compromises our existing List and our Draft Pick status
