Unlucky for Peris

Post: # 2014162Post B.M »

The only loser out of the tackle debacle!!!!

In a weird way, I was hoping it would get upheld so we’d get a look at him!

But, he was never going to go, it was actually htb and clearly a fair tackle!

Would he have debuted you think? I know he’s like for like but he hasn’t been dancing around the perimeter all that closely

I think he would have got a shot

Ross loves roles, especially the small forward role!

He’s the next small forward in line currently

Any idea how many times he’s been listed emergency? I can remember one but haven’t followed all that closely

Don’t think he has

But probably hasn’t earned it - the sub comes from the emergency list

Would probably have a small forward as sub?

From what I’ve seen
he was a mile off last year - played wing and HB
Has improved since he’s been moved to small forward

He’s still developing and is raw but it’d be nice to see him get a game - even if it’s just to have a look at him

I would of loved to see him as well!! And think he was in with a shot. Just look at Davey from the Bombers, he has speed, a step and a defensive mind set when he doesn't have the ball. Davey is making an impact at AFL level despite his below par kicking. So I cant see why Peris wouldn't make some defenders panic.. a little.

Going on what I saw on Friday he is a way off AFL standard at the moment.

Playing as a small forward is a tough gig, and I'd argue that's it's even tougher in that Sandy team with it's atrocious ball movement.

It would interesting to see how Peris would fair with better players and better system around him.

It's hard to gauge whether he could make the transition at this point of his development

Really pleased justice was served & Butler free to play this week.
He’s putting together a good season thus far.
Watching Peris at training I think he’d be out of his depth at the next level.

As the op suggests, it'll take injury or suspension to Butler or Higgins for Peris to get his opportunity.

I suppose that's how Anthony Caminiti got rookie listed (with both King and Hayes injured) and subsequently secured himself a new 3 year deal.

With Jack Hayes available soon it probably means that the coaches will be keen to play him as the back up tall Forward. I can't see Butler or Higgins getting dropped unless Higgins continues to underperform.

Good dilemna for match committee and will be keen to see Owens playing as a pure mid, with Hayes and Marshall rotating in the ruck.

Probably means Peris has to wait a while longer for an opportunity to play seniors
