Mind you a lot of Acres possessions were uncontested in the back line and decision making questionable, however I think we gave up on him too easily.

Mason Woods don’t grow on trees and can’t play into their 40s!

Curly! Either do your homework or go stand in the corner. You are obviously fixated on the umpires because you are not watching the efforts of players that fly under the radar, like Byrnes.

He ran 15 kilometres during the game, the second highest distance of any player on the ground (Wood ran 15.5!) And collected 20 possessions. Most of his hard running was in defence, one of the reasons the dirty, rotten Blues could only kick 8 goals.
That's spot on Trev and exactly what I said above to Curly. His off the ball work is a great example of Ross's game plan.

Byrnes is a ball butcher. Doing a good job but needs to be replaced by better. His kicks also lack penetration.

I am convinced you don’t actually understand the game then, just watch hoping to be outraged by umpires. Will a better ball user run like Byrnes? The spread is as important as the delivery for some players.

Billings also a power runner. Also please don’t try the you don’t understand football line.

Billings is a half forward who has runs through the wing/ midfield occasionally, he isn’t running like Byrnes, they are different athletes. I like billings and think he comes into the team soon, with owens going into the midfield more regularly and Jack taking the half forward role, changing with wood on the wing.

Byrnes is doing his job. I didn't see him butcher the ball today, either. He was involved in some important moments tonight and that comes from his high work rate. Our game plan is based on hard running and along with Wood and Hill he's the best endurance player in the team. To play the effective defensive game we now play, having guys who can do that back and forth running all day is critical

There is no reason to demote him to the VFL.

I really like Seb Ross’ game today.
Fought hard for every possession and took the game on a number of times.

Sinclair and Hill also good.

I really do think you need to watch the replay again and tell us if you’ve seen JB win the loose ground contest as well as what Ronnie did in that last quarter

Byrnes won’t be dropped

Billings hasn’t helped us win games this year and Byrnes has.

If you’d said Billings was a better player that would be true.

Just on the disposal element..if you’re going drop players for their efficiency, then Crouch would be dropped by your criteria

Most of Crouches kicks (he only had 6 kicks in total) were basically giving the footy straight back to the opposition.

Loved how often the blurs "switched it" inside their defensive 50... and with nowhere to go "switched it" back again.

Not "Simon Templar". He was here first. Please change my username to Bumstead and if possible make me one of those very large sandwiches, thanks!

BM should have an enima after the game ànd feel a lot freer And start to embrace the sweet things in life and relax a bit and stop over analysing life which isn't all about footy .go hug your dog ..but I bet you don't have one as it wouldn't live up to your expectations.

The afl match highlights were a f****** disgrace! You might have thought Carlscum won. They showed hardly any of our second half goals, seemed more interested in showing Scum pricks marking the ball! Just ludicrous

Not a chance Byrnes gets dropped.
Was outstanding again and forming a very good partnership with Wood on the other wing.

What brought that on?

I think B.M ‘s analysis of the game is pretty good.

I have banged heads with him in the past but he has a head for the game and I also love his training reports.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

The fact is that Billings WILL play next week (if they deem him fit enough) and that someone WILL go out of the side for Billings. I don't think it will be Byrnes. Probably Windy.

I think someone has been unduly influenced by the great influencer on this site in regards Byrnes’ disposal (off both feet)

Quick, efficient and courageous plus now has a tank

And in regards Billings, I recall him taking a number of match saving overhead marks deep in defence - and contested

Byrnes has been good. If Billings comes in it should be for Matias. Kid needs to be managed.

My expectations are high for this kid but I thought he was disappointing tonight. Missed a few marks that he has the ability to take.
Although when he flew over the top at one stage and the ball spilled to Butler, I don’t think that was totally luck.

Thought Byrnes was great today - suspect Windy might make way for Billings, hasn't recaptured the spark from last year yet but confident he will!

Umps likely to go all Carlton and be surprised by the result. Cripps 3 for sure, and they don't mind him throwing; Walsh 2 then Curnow the larger. If he was able to goal without umpire assistance he might have got 2 votes. Battle would have been scolded:"don't touch curly locks" we like him a lot.

Was super impressed by the way we flicked the ball around last night - great fast movement

We held our nerve and when needed just out played them with great footy

Funny that some journos still dont want to give us credit

Happy to still fly under the radar

Bring on Port!!
