Coaches didn't read the tea leaves

I thought Bytel should have played and Steele should have been held back for next week

In hindsight, it was probably Brad Crouch who needed the rest this week. Brad definitely needs a rest considering we only have a 5 day break

Ross, Steele and Crouch all sub 75% game time.

Roughly 10% to 15% less than last week.

We are also not good enough to be resting prime movers imo. Not against a midfield like Carlton.

They were always going to do well from an initial contest perspective, ours is the secondary clearance game.

Phillipou needs a rest this week
How could anyone think stocker is at risk, he has been excellent.
In no danger at all

Last in, first out?

So Caminiti, Cordy and Stocker?

We have 3 Top Ten Draft Picks sitting in the Stands being Billings, King and Coffield, who will all return given recovery from injury

Plus is Caminiti the “crash and bash” tall forward to compliment King?

Noting Owens development

Mind you we have to keep winning

Big fan.

Was listed alongside 6 other players.

The great thing about performing well as a side- someone who has been performing well is still at risk- if they don't keep it up.

Top 10 goalkicker in the league in 2020
Fast
Good defensive side

What has Billings achieved?
OK. DB kicked important goals today.
All I've got is JB survived AR, was pick 3 and is highly skilled.
Do you think Billings isn't a class player though.
Wood would have rated below DB in 2020 using that logic. But he certainly is not.
But point taken. Don't agree but there you go.

Getting very hard at the selection table

I don't see Byrnes , Butler, Paton or Stocker coming out of the side.
The only change would possibly be resting Phillipou and including Billings.
Possibly swapping Windhager for Bytel (if only to reward Bytel and and to give Windy some VFL minutes for match fitness)

Ross is clearly ntent on Cordy being there until a better tall is available

Will Ross keep Cooper for next year ? i doubt it but it's a wait an

Could we trade Cooper next year we do need draft picks

Why do we need draft picks. We can't fit all our class players into the on-field 22 already

We wouldn’t get a 4th rounder for Sharman

Happy to disagree but this is what I'd want to see from Billings this year to keep his spot once earned.
- Plays a role in the team structure
- A defensive side
- Uses his skills to advantage (long and accurate left boot)
- Takes contested marks

He does all of those things and becomes a damaging high half forward/wing. Mason Wood is the yardstick.

To answer your question, yes Billings is class. But we are a working class team, so that comes first.

Because of how billings looks i feel he is often harshly judged when it comes to defensive and contested work. I actually think he is pretty good in those areas.

Ya know, the case of Mason Wood kind of makes me think JB hi-if could also potentially do the same.

Although. JB already has runs on the board

But how is his back

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
