Seems to me that some on here are overthinking this or just being contrarian.

(i) Two Kings in one side is a massive headache for opposition teams.

(ii) Both Kings are likely to accept less to play at one side and fulfil the dream.

(iii) There's no reason they both have to play permanently in the forward line.

(iv) The crumbers will literally be salivating.

Worst case is we must show interest if only to drive up a bidding war between Collingwood & Essendon. Both of those clubs will be thinking similarly.

Biggest mistake the Suns ever made was not taking 2 X Kings when they had 3 picks in the top 6.

Brooke & Marni probably would’ve gone to the GC (supported by the club) and they would have had two potentially generational players for their careers.

I think Dew will get the arse at season’s end and Ben moving will depend on the replacement.
You could also see a pre RFA deal being done if Ben wants to extract a good deal for the Suns.

Hopefully our rash over spending ( Hannebery, Hill, Jones) is over and we secure Ben at a decent market rate.

A lot of assumptions being made here.

I thought Caminiti was going to be the bees knees and a good one-two thing with Ming?

I don't think there is any amount of rationalizing that can deflect how damn good it would be if Ben.
The sheer enormity of his obvious talent has not been realized yet, and any side having an opportunity for such a gift would be doing someting irratiional, beyond any madness we have seen, to refuse.
He is an enormous would be- gift horse that shouldn't be even glanced at, yet alone stared upon.

'Wouldn't suit out current set up?'
What???

What set-up?

It is like saying a Porche Turbo wouldn't fit in the garage because of the Wolsely Bllue Streak. so we better not accept it.

The only caveat beside chronic injury is psychological / confidence issues, which both boys seem to be dealing with at least on the field.
That fixed, the sky is the limit.

If Ben came it is good news.

Plenty to like about this prospect, and will not have cost a single draft pick.

The way The Hammer roams the ground as a 19 year old is excellent, and he is yet to do an AFL preseason.

Ming, Caminiti, Membrey, Phillipou, Higgins and Butler/Gresham/Owens

That's an exciting forward line

I could only see getting Bing as being a positive for Caminati.
As good as he’s been, I don’t know that he’s really suited to be the key forward that you rely on ala Max. I think Caminati is more mobile and is a bit more in the Membrey mould of a medium sized forward that’s a bit bigger/stronger and mobile. I’d be happier with Caminati playing on the third choice defender… feel like that would be a huge advantage for us to exploit

Undoubtedly, he's terrific at winning the ball inside the forward 50, and is amazingly good for a big man when the ball's on the ground. But, like St Nick before him,I wouldn't put money on him converting more than 3 out of 5 set shots in a pressure game from 40 metres out directly in front at Marvel with the roof on. And converting set shots is what good forwards do.

If Bing doesn't end up going to the Pies, perhaps we could offer them Max as a direct swap for De Goey. Sacrilege, I know.

But I am convinced that our main weakness is not up forward, but - as it has been more many years - in the midfield in terms of attacking potency. Things are a little better in that department this season due to Clark stepping up a bit, Sinclair playing further forward on occasions, and Crouch displaying an attacking dimension to his game that we haven't seen previously. But we are still particularly weak in this area. That's where a De Goey (or a Petracca, but let's not go back there) would have made a massive difference.
Our future midfield will be Windhager, Owens, Phillipou, Hotton…
Spot. On. 👊🏼

I have been on the Bing train from day dot and would love him to come to us.

Anyone thinking we have no room for a 200cm elite key position player is just silly.

Does anyone know if it is a chance though..?
Would it be this year..?
I think it has to be, to try and get him in open market would mean paying too much,
We would possibly need to give up a player though as I am not sure foldcoast need picks..? They have so much young talent already.

So what do we need to give up to get him..?

Ben Ainsworth would also be a nice get from them

Prefer any very good player that does not cost us draft picks. Anderson is very good. Bing with Ming will be very good.

Would GC be interested in Lets say battle and maybe hayes and a 2 round this year and next year for Bing
It sounds a lot but its a once in lifetime opportunity.
We can cover Battle and Hayes with some young guys I know it would be hard to loose them but Battle contract expires soon anyway.

Battle is already a far better AFL footballer than Ben King. So a big no from me.

I wouldnt say better but Battle is an integral member of our defence now and wouldnt like to lose him. I doubt Ben King will leave this year in any event, but as has been suggested a lot will depend on how they handle the Dew exit.

Do Max and Ben have the same management?
If so, does anybody seriously think that conversations have not been had to ascertain Ben’s plans?

At what cost though?

Ben King in, Owens and Pou out?

Then there’s salary cap, you can’t have 18 $1M players running around.

You can’t even fit 2 $1M in your forward line.

The only way he’d be affordable is if he’s no good, and then we obviously wouldn’t really want him.

If he goes to the Pies ... he'll be Ping (there's a nice ring to that).
And we'll have Sting.
