AFL is an emotional sport but some of the abuse and language that gets thrown at umpires and players during games is absolutley feral. People who would rarely speak like that in public, its an indictment on society and it needs to be stopped. Having said that a lot more needs to be done at games to prevent and educate supporters that their behaviour is not acceptable.
It might be feral but having draconian rules that punish a player just for pointing at a screen, thus giving a 50m penalty on top of an already incorrect decision certainly doesnt help, and won't help educate any supporters in the slightest.
