Lenny Hayes had a strong working relationship with two former AFL coaches, namely Ross Lyon and Leon Cameron.
Both are very experienced and have taken theirr respective former teams to grand finals and multiple preliminary finals, which makes them both astute mentors.
However, Cameron has the edge over Lyon in player development, having moulded elite young talent at GWS over a decade.
I'm sure the board will lean heavily on Lenny's referral recommendation one way or the other, having worked closely with both coaches.
Lyon will be more invigorated, having spent three seasons in the media, but if Cameron still has the fire in the belly to coach I would prefer him, given the middle ground that our list is in right now.
