What I have done is only include the players with absolute currency and who have been traded, noting there are only 7 because Bowes is excluded - the rest of the names traded bits and pieces on the Roundabout.

Of some of those 7 with currency, there is the "go home" factor as the driver.

So the majority of Clubs have held their First Round picks, including St Kilda.

In terms of Pick 9, to upgrade the only Clubs to negotiate with are GWS and NM because they hold the top 3 Picks (and if you trade up from 9 it would be to get to the top 3, otherwise why?)

So St Kilda would have spoken to GWS and NM, hence Clark.

Maybe the offer of Steele, King, Marshall or Sinclair and Pick 9 would have seen Pick 3 with St Kilda - but who would have courted such a "trade"?

So the lay of the land is what it is.

And we head to the Draft, with Pick 9 - then a couple of later Picks (including for Long who GC have paid for) trusting there is another Marshall or Sinclair in the pack.

So, for all the yelling and screaming on here, St Kilda is with the majority of the Clubs across the Competition - going to the Draft with a First Round pick.

And trusting in its List - including the youth on its List including those who have not yet appeared at AFL level (so the likes of Heath, Adams and Peris plus who we now Draft).

When you trade, to gain significant you have to trade out significant.

That is why Pick 3 remains with NM.

Don’t know if either Gears or Selwood are interested in coaching, but they are 2 individuals I believe Saints should sound out as assistant coaches........ both fit into the Lenny Hayes mould.

Actually I noticed Sandringham weren’t playing too well early in the season. Gears wasn’t playing in the early games. When he came back from injury, Sandy became more competitive and won a few games. You could see the influence he had on the team. He was like a playing coach on the field, organising players on where to position themselves, pointing where to kick, pointing players when to switch to defence etc. it was so obvious. He wasn’t chasing kicks himself, but still putting his body on the line. He covered for players who left their opponents . Then Gears got injured again, and Sandi started falling in a heap. I may be a bit out on my time frames when Sandi were competitive or had a few wins. However their poor matches were often when Geary wasn’t playing. Although I didn’t view on AFL.com all of the games they played, so I may be a bit off.

I believe Gears has all the attributes to take on coaching......tho he may be best going to another club to start off as an assistant coach.

Did you read the comments Geary made a few weeks back about our young ruckman, Max Heath? I forget Geary’s actual words, but he said something like......... Be afraid, be very afraid when Heath gets it altogether, he’s going to be so good. The interview was written up on Saints.com at the end of the season.

In response to certain fornicated morons who "contribute" garbage to this site, the uneducated telling their fellow uneducated what they do not know, It is time to set the story straight.

The year was 1984 and the sporting genius that is Barrie Robran had just moved house for the third time in 12 months, according to local newspaper reports the big man had been the victim of an obsessed stalker and was on the run from this unknown but wily assailant.

I’d heard through the brother of a very famous Australian off spinner, that the sinewy giant had moved into a certain street in Norwood so I set about my next move.

Research located a local family two doors from the footballing lothario’s new abode and this family was happy to provide a foster home for needy children.

Being 4ft 10 and 63 years old I knew exactly what to do, I forged a new birth certificate and approached the family telling them I had Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome and was in need of a home, they took the bait, hook, line and sinker and I moved in the next day.

My first move was to start surveillance on the rippled human rock, so I jumped the back fence and drilled two holes in the fence between the neighbors yard and that of big Barrie.
