Michito

Post: # 1977608Post Banger9798 »

Where do people see him playing?

His cameo performance at the end of the year really gave the team a lift.

Looks like he is still getting the feel of the game and understanding where to run, but his attributes could have him being a monster onballer or very difficult match up in the forward line

19 and strong as a bull at the contest.

Windhager is already cemented in, but I'm just as excited about what Owens can become.

He will become a similiar player to Lenny Hayes IMO (not necessarily to that level). A tall midfielder who can also play forward. It will depend on how committed he is as to level he gets to.

I see him as a Patrick Cripps type. A bull of a midfielder who'll be able to go forward and kick some goals. He's the strongest 18 year old I've seen at St Kilda....well...there was that Tony Lockett guy

Definitely inside Mid

Cripps, Joey Kennedy style bull mid who wins it at stoppage

Can go forward and take a catch too

Would be fantastic if he could become the big bodied mid we've been craving for so long.

As most have already stated inside mid would seem to suit his physique & game style . If he can mirror Cripps I would be more than happy

Cripps is the one that comes to mind for me.
Good to see a few others making that comparison.

Great drafting.
NWM - winger with footskills
Owens and Windhager - big inside mids with speed

Where do we go with our pick 9?

Mid or Back?

I seem to recall that some folk had Acres in that Cripps or Bont role, due to his height and skillset.
Michita may just be our version of the Bont if our development folk can assist him and get him on the right path.
Our club hasn't got a nice record in development, but I think we've been lucky to snag Windy and Owen who already have some serious DNA built-in.
And with The GOAT Lenny on board to show guidance, the club won't stuff up *these* two (for a change)

I think he'll keep mixing it up between forward and midfield for the next season or two while he builds his fitness and game sense. Then probably in his 3rd/4th year he could transition into being a mid who pinch hits forward.

Next year I see him playing mainly up forward because he's shown his versatility down there and we need someone like him in the forward line.

Eventually he's got the attributes to be our Patty Cripps

I think Mitch can be our very own JDG, who I believe we don't really need.

Not a mid- HFF I reckon. Big enough to take a strong grab, and is agile enough to scout around the forward half. I don't think Higgins and Butler are good enough together and we need that bit of extra height and strength on the HF line.

Acres is big and strong but a bit passive…Owens is see ball get ball and get out of my way type.

With interchanges at a premium and possibly cut further. Owens value to stay on the park as a strong medium forward who can go through the middle will be invaluable.

From the game tonight, Darren Berry is a pretty good comparison to what we can expect from Owens.

Is Mich into eye-gouging?

Just kidding of course...I do know what you mean

Just on the eye gouging incident, the Melbourne player was the instigator and he wrestled Berry and had him lying on the turf with all of his weight on him

I think Berry was desperate to get Clarry off him because Oliver had his arm across his neck.

Not justifying the action, but really pisses me off when the commentators don't highlight that Oliver started it

I thought there was nothing in it.
He had his head twisted 90 degrees and was reaching for his jumper and missed a bit. No harm done

Daisy Pearce was quick to highlight it, and BT got quickly on board with the condemnation.

The channel 7 director thought he'd leverage some drama and they showed the replay about 4 times in quick succession

Luke Hodge thought, he can't let those guys just crucify Berry and he goes; "Oliver is smiling about it, so nothing to worry about it. Nothing in it"

See this is the mistake some of our supporters make, comparing a kid with only a few games to his name to Berry's performance is way over rating Michito at this stage of his career. He's achieved nothing until he proves he can ACTUALLY deliver a final 4 performance and he hasn't shown anything to-date that suggests he can, mainly because he hasn't played in a final 4 team as yet.

Climb off the high horse Vortex, I'm saying he's a similar type of player, Similar size and we can expect him to develop along those lines. He's a first year player with alot of promise, Berry has been in the system for a few years....I think I'm aware that he has some developing to do.

I don’t expect Mitch to be as sharp with the gloves but feel he’ll be far superior with the bat 😉

Shows glimpses of being a prospect. He'll make it, but what kind of player he develops into is really hard to tell. He's got lots of x-factor.

Nice pair of hands, well-balanced. Hope he learns to find the footy. 18 touches in his last game of the year was much more like it and I hope he goes on with it from here - we really need him to make it.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
