Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 2 2022
Effort was there all day
To our credit we didn’t start slow
First half poor kicking into forward 50 really hurt
But after halftime it felt like we just looked a little more composed and what a difference???
Battle - great game
And I feel Sinclair just makes our midfield better…when gets it I feel something constructive will happen he’s class

The kicking to king after half time made sense for a change

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 2 2022
We have plenty to work on let’s be honest and Freo were ordinary but we take it…won’t have it that easy against top opposition
I’d like to see us NOT try and save the game for a whole quarter - the 3rd showed us how we can play when we are proactive….don’t go back into shells!!
Fancy playing Battle on a wing….
Sincs is a midfielder - Hunter C take note…
I’d persist with NWM next week think he looked better longer the game went
Crouch deserve a mention along with DMac
Next week gets hard ….
IF Paddy comes in does Hayes have a rest?

Slid into legs as well.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 2 2022
I thought they showed some resilience today. In the first quarter, the game was hot, our defence caught out and horribly undersized and we missed goals we shouldn't have.
We hung in there in the 2nd quarter, they should have got away from us but didn't.
The third quarter we took them and got the rewards, Max, Higgins & Crouch stood up. Darcy down helped. Marshall is a 2nd ruck at best but he & Hayes have some ticker, just cannot go toe to toe with gorillas in the ruck.
The 4th quarter the Dockers threw everything at us and our undermanned defence grew tall, all were great led by Battle and Wilkie. Special mentions to Lienert and McKenzie. Kudos to Joyce for hanging in there & Hill wanting to be in everything.
NWM will have infinitely better games in his 250 game career with us but he can hold his head high, a good debut.

A few other positives.
I was very impressed with Nasiah for his first game. His skills are first rate.
Sinclair continues to impress in the midfield.
