I'm going early but I have seen enough of Cooper Sharman to suggest he will be a really good player. He obviously has to add some size, but I can see him surpassing Wood/Battle and playing that 3rd tall role for us.

Seriously, there's no room in the modern game for guys who can't kick. Turnovers cost goals and it was evident tonight.

Crouch and Dunstan both put in

We’re largely ineffective

As inside Mids they got an armchair ride and couldn’t turn that into advantage. Both players scrubbed it forward.

Not his best night and poor disposal but bloody hell he turned up and competed all night which is a hell of a lot more than can be said for Ross who was more than happy to sit in space for a 1/4 and a half.
Got 6-7 touches in the last 10min to lift his numbers from appalling to baseline but no impact on the game, poor effort, no leadership

Give me Dunstan any day of the week. Kid is a competitive beast
Yeah fair call. Probably a bit emotional with my criticism. There definitely were others that should be in the headlights.

Yep as I just said, better than both Crouch and Ross tonight, team high 10 clearances.

Crouch seams to avoid criticism somehow
It’s not an either or situation and Crouch has some credits

Regardless I’m with you on Dunstan

Oh yeah... I remember those guys

Very impressive debut (though technically it was his second game)

2 goals, got away on a lead three times

Not short of confidence

Tonight do we take more solace in the look on Captain Jack's face - or that of players laughing and chatting.

Some snacks are in for a whacking in the change rooms when Jack gets there!

He [and a couple of others] avoid Sackcloth and ashes - the rest should suffer the humility.

Get rid of Billings. My abiding memory of him is the number of times we’ve had a sniff and Billings has snuffed it our!

Lazy, ham fisted effort.

I expected to lose, based on empirical data. We lose to Carlton by plenty, late in the season, each season, when Carlton have been lambasted in the press and are about to sack their coach.

So congrats St Kilda.

Now you put that way doesn't make it any easier to swallow but at least it's an excuse

When he lead and marked that first kick at goal , I turned to the mate I was watching with and said :
"See that instinctive lead and mark, watch them coach it out of him"

He looks like a natural forward.

Kent should never play again.

Zak Jones thinks that he is so much better than he really is.

In his mind he’s on level pegging with Steele but in reality when we’re fully healthy he’s probably like 4th-5th in line.

Always wants to do the fancy instead of the steady.

It wasnt his fault we lost but he is such a deflating figure when shooting for goal, he simply has the go!!!!!

Do we have a leadership group, I understand other clubs do.

If so they need arm bands and possibly red clown noses to be identified/separated - from the other clowns in stripes sometimes described as professional footballers for StKFC.

Watching it seemed like quite an egalitarian group of nongs looking for a leader. Other than Steely of course who was quite authoritative when his early kick for goal sailed oob. His F it was quite forceful, even though a bit under his breath.

That's a brilliant new avatar SD

We will only get close and become contenders if every player on the list strives for excellence (like our captain)

Last week was probably a bit flattering. I don't think West Coast are that good. Whoever plays them this week will probably beat them

Last week there were periods when plenty went missing and there were signs that a few were tired and leg weary

I still expected us to win against Carlton, but I think the best lesson from losses such as this will be that our coaches cannot trust certain individuals to back up week after week.

They need to rotate responsibilities and give others a turn in the middle. They need to get fitter next preseason and they need to drop a couple of senior players from time to time because they repeatedly let us down

Interesting to see West Coast get smashed by Collingwood.
