Highmore is a defender who was forced to play forward last week. In the games he's played in defense, he has been better than Clavarino. He's certainly tougher than Clavarino.

I think that they named injured players in the team on purpose and to avoid the embarrassment of only having two players named as emergencies.

My betting is that Wood and King come out, replaced by Bytel and Joyce with Oscar as the medical sub.

Don't believe Connelly is fit.

Tony said we only have 25 fit players available.

He certainly reads the play better than Clav. That said - Tom is an intercepting HBF type so, reading the play is his stock in trade. Clav seems to me more in the defence-first Frawley type mold.

Heard the commentary last night say, “Geelong doesn’t have any intercept mark type defenders, they ALL are”

I didn’t wanna watch, cause I just expected the usual generic nothings, but I have cognition.

I was expecting Ryder to be a last minute withdrawal, but after hearing Ratts here, I believe he’ll play.

And Tex a late out for them would be nice too.

Also the murmurings of Port Adelaide fans. He was a trusted lieutenant of Richo from their Port days I believe.

Hamill is like that boot studder who will die within the walls of the club due to some Chappelli like deal.

Srobolak(?) appears to be the winner of a "Make a Wish" Foundation prize - another Richo era selection.

If Ratten wants to survive he needs fresh IP from his assistants, his chosen assistants.

The big issue poor clubs like ours are going to experience over the next 3 to 5 years is the economic drain the Pandemic is and will continue to inflict on football department recruiting and development. A lot of assistant coaches were impacted severely with many leaving the industry permanently as they really are middle management and it's generally always the first area impacted in organisational spending cuts.

We can sack the lot of assistants we currently have but the big question is, who can we afford to bring in...not much I guess.

The club really is delicately positioned. What we need more than anything else, like seriously more than anything else is some major luck with avoiding injury to any of our playing stock entering 2022.

We need to have the whole list of players available in the hope we can squeeze some performance out of the list we are stuck with and see where that takes us. If that doesn't happen in 2022 then you watch the membership and sponsorship dollars dry up significantly from that point onwards.

You truly are god like B.M., you speak to everyone yet no one.

I'll guess you are sarcastically referring to my post. My point was not blame but bewilderment that a new coach can come in and be asked to work with the old regimes assistants.

I don't know about you but if I was to take over a department then I'd be wanting to bring my own people in, otherwise you are working with your hands tied.

Again this is another example of all aspects of the club working together rather than dysfunctional autonomous factions.

God like… not even sure what that is supposed to mean??

Isn’t it BRs job to lead his assistants? They work for him, not the other way around?!

And who are his people??

My opinion is Ratten is really struggling, I suggested last season, his Game Plan was worked out by Geelong.

Yes, who are his people? Any answer will suffice as I don't know.

WOW, Geelong beating a team is something that cracks the Da Vinci code. Geelong have beaten a lot of sides yet still failed to beat them in the game that matters. Beating a team with a first year coach coming from 6 to 8 years of mediocrity is hardly a feather in Scott's cap.

God like yes because of your dismissive attitude and utter belief that all you expel is the only answer, you acknowledge no one nor care to consider their points of view. (As I bow in your presence for dare speaking)
