Unless Ms Duthie has previously undisclosed goss, say on Eddie Mc or C. Wilson, its all a bit sad/tacky. I don't think any of the protagonists are still active at the Club (possibly Gears? and he is beyond reproach and not connected); the current management and playing group has the credibility and media smarts to simply dismiss/ignore rubbish for what it is. Anyway who would bother being publisher.

I think it is just a simple regression. On one axis is how juicy is the goss and how much meat can be hacked off on the character assassination ledger iinthe story. On the other is the 'tenor of the times'. Smack bang in th emiddle of women's month, with protests, a government sex scandal, and the wider 'me too' movement, the vulnerability of the 'ol school tuff male on the brink (Packer, McGuire, me and you?) ...it is a good time to strike.

I image the programmers, with absolutely zero accountability to conscience, would simply demand more from potential guests on their breakfast, current affairs shows....i.e 'We want two or three bombshells, plus .1.5 names per 30 seconds of air time, if you wanna promote your book.." etc.,

Fox Footy dontated $500 to her fight for life campaign so I'd expect Murdoch will want a return on that investment unless it is a back payment for services previously rendered.

If I was Kim's parents I would be concerned that they were dragged into an illegal conspiracy to defraud citizens of a significant amount. If I was a grub eating journo I'd be knocking on the parents door to ask questions. It won't surprise me if that's where Murdoch takes the story.

Funniest part about Murdoch is I find he takes up more real estate in the brain of the people who oppose him than the supposed dupes of his vast and omnipotent propaganda machine.

Sort of like Soros or Bill Gates for people on the right it's a really unhealthy and BORING obsession.

Also as others have pointed out non News Corp institutions were passionate in their promotion of this grubby and irrelevant mess and the supposed scandal surrounding her -- just as they continue to be.

I consider myself to be very unique by not discriminating in my contempt for agenda manipulated media from most outlets.
Just like politics, the media game is ultra self serving and damaging to the human race.
