A captian is what you have when you don't have a suitable leader to be captain.
Thank you .

However, an eye to the future, there is one player with maturity and composure that stands out. He has the evasive skills of Robert Harvey, the composure of Scott Pendlebury and the courage and skill James Hird. This guy is an absolute superstar and an ornament to the game.

13 years at the club and people still don't know his name!
I'd replace him just for that alone! :D :D
Be nice if the poster could spell his title if not his name.

I truly dont think any one player is quite ready to be captain yet. I hear Ross is a decent leader, Hannebery is said to be quite directive and vocal with the lads as is Lonie, surprisingly.
I think co captains could be Steele and Geary in 2021. Then Steele alone in 2022.

Will Geelong release him?

Yeah...but cryptic perhaps...

But there was a time, a short time...
.it must be said.
That I seriously thought Jake could be our captain.

There wasn’t a lot of competition at the time.

To be honest, I thought of Dougal Howard too, but one thing that bugs me is that he didn’t wanna do the team thing at Port. He refused to play forward, to such an extent, they let him, a good player, go. He would have been there tonight in Pot colors too. He might have helped them win.

We already have a talented big guy who could have been a Lynch, who moaned and groaned and his club let him go, again about playing forward, and he is doing OK it seems. (Might get a new contract any minute....might not..?) I don’t want us to be the club where players know they can get their way.

So I guess it’s Captain Steele or someone else. Wilkie?

For now it’s Gears...I would say...again.

You can't make a would be bikie gang criminal captain of the club just because he is the best player in the competition.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
