Like Hickey, Lonie has become the new whipping boy.
Our results dipped massively as soon as he went off injured against Adelaide and only began to improve again when he returned.

I’d rather have Acres and Brown everyday of the week.
We would be suffering a risk to team balance with this. I reckon Lonie brings an intensity needed as a small forward. Hes the only reliable small player that shows a discipline to get front and centre to aerial contests. That includes Gresh, Sinclair, McKenzie, Billings and possibly others. Another who does this well is Long. We are going nowhere if we continue to lose the ground ball stats. I'm not talking about clearances here, just positioning.

However, positioning was also what cost us that Port game from Paddys brilliant tap out to Robbie Grey in 2018. We improved in 2019 but tended to give the ball back after the first or second disposal. I hope he can get us some of that advantage and learning.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Sad day for Jack Newnes.
St Kilda had an offer on the table but told to explore his free agency.
Not one of the other 17 clubs wanted him for free.
St Kilda may have got a very late compensation pick if they had.

Once the trade period finishes tonight St Kilda must decide if they leave that offer on the table or withdraw it.
Rebuilding for a tilt at a premiership would you clog the list with a player who no-one else wants ?

Looking like McKenzie may have to be delisted than re-drafted as a rookie, which is possible to do under the regulations.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Anyone else hoping that Roughy comes out of retirement and plays on with us for 1-2 years? I reckon his on-field leadership would be invaluable .

Don’t we just have to delist one more as a minimum?
