If we end up with Matty Knights as coach I’m f##king done.

And tony, I assume that is Robert Harvey? But even Mark Harvey would be a viable option over Knights.

Was hard done by at Fremantle.

Coached one final, got flogged by 100 pts, and has a win ratio of 38%, 10 years ago. PASS.

Would have Brad Scott over him any day.
Knights was very good considering what he was up against.

Forget the personality. Geelong aren’t doing too bad. And he has enormous input into there development.

Surely in order to "keep" improving, once must first have shown signs of beginning to improve?? :?: :?

Maybe I wasn't looking, but when did that happen??

I get a strange feeling that Brad Scott's sudden and unexpectedly early departure from North is linked to something, like Buddy's field positions in his last weeks at Hawthorn. "Something's up" kinda vibe. But what does Brad Scott bring? I know he is technical and kind of a hard-nut, but North were the perennial 'almost' team ever since he took over from Laidley. They never looked like world-beaters.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

And no chance he’d leave Geelong.

His brother is hard arsed also, but given North’s inability to score Free Agents I’m not sure if he’s good value.

He's talking about Knights at Geelong.

I’m just happy he called out this absolute sh1tshow for what it is. Yesterday was as bad a performance as the Bad Friday game of last year.

Gutless and disrespectful to all the fans.

Makes no sense.
Is Brad Scott helping his bro at The Cattery?

How do you know he can coach?
Remember what happened to Voss. Id prefer R Harvey being given a chance.

This isn't ITK stuff,
it's simply lifted from the 'Sunraysia Daily' news of 13 June,
where Chris Scott says Knights would be a good coach if he got another gig.
It says Knights has been senior midfield coach at Sleepy Hollow since 2015.

There ya go, another random stab in the dark.
We all do it.

A very intriguing question and one I'm so looking forward to seeing answered in depth by all of the coaching experts on here and with regards to any of the names thrown up.

I'm expecting daily in depth analysis on how and why potential candidates can improve on the incumbent, similar to the daily in depth analysis weve received on why Alan couldn't do the job.

Maybe he can't but one thing we've all learnt is that Alan can't coach either!

Scott I understand, but I’d be stunned if Ratten wasn’t also in the mix.

I also think they’ll go through a process. Too risky just to just pick a name with considering all of the options available.

Yes the process will be flawed. Sick of the process. Get a bunch of ex footballers and some HR woman, interview some people, give them some crap psychological assessment and then pick the "best available". How many times has that worked for the Saints.
It's such a flawed system. If you have crap candidates you'll end up with a crap coach. You need to pay the best to get the best. That should be the process!

On no!

They need to put a line through Harvey or the Club will rue the day.

He was a champion player an ornament to the game, no doubt he's a competent assistant, but he's not a Head Coach. And Knights!!! I don't mind second chances and it was a long time ago, but he was a disaster at Essendon, including losing the players.

Scott presents a risk, we don't know what he's like after 10 years at North.

Listened to Lethlean's 3AW interview.

Get the impression Richo survives the week, but won't survive another one like that.

I thought he drew a clear line in the sand.

Good. Offer him a job as an Assistant with a role in player development.
