GC are planning to take Luko and Rankine not Rozee. The sole basis for the Rozee rumour is an AFL website story picked up by the papers and social media.
The two more interesting questions are:
1. What are the SA clubs prepared to give GC to access one of those twp picks?
2. As rodgerfox alludes to above, can we nail a classy long-term player with pick 4?

You pay overs for a player you really neeed. It'd be a 'feather' in Bell's cap.

I've seen just about everything suggested for the Gold Coast picks. They plan to trade both picks to the Adelaide teams for a ransom. They plan to keep both picks and take Lukosius and Rankine, or even both Kings. They plan to keep the first, take Lukosius, and trade the second down to take Jack's mate Rozee. It's time for the obligatory 'this is the club that traded last year's pick 2 for Lachie Weller' comment. They're the wildest of wildcards. Too maverick for Mav. I'm not sure anyone has a read on them.

If I'm them, I'm taking Lukosius and Max King. The go home factor can go home and factor itself. That's two first-overall calibre key forwards who are different types that would complement each other well. For lack of a better reference point, Roo and Kosi. I doubt they do it, after their incessant bleating about their relative disadvantage at retaining players. That's what they'd do if they really want to be bold and take the game on.

DON’T trade the bloody Pick!!!!

BEST TOP END TALENT FOR A LONG TIME! The last two times teams have traded their early pick it was:
GC.. Weller for pick 2..PUKE
Dees.. Pick 2 - Josh Kelly for Tyson and Salem... PUKE

Do you have inside source on who GC will take?
serious question.. not having a go in any way.
Or you just take Rankine as best available?

No one on this site had any actual knowledge on what is going to happen, only guess work.
We may still trade our pick as may Carlton who can get a huge ransom from crows as They really want lukosious. If that happens then what does gc do.
No one knows anything but it is fun to speculate

Hearing Crows and Port are really keen for our pick 4. If we could get 2 x top 10 picks somehow then why not. Why not then get the two best midfielders we can in the draft? The top 10 will all be good prospects. Its a strong draft in the top 20.

Pick 4 for 6 & 10 would be a great deal, although I doubt it has yet been offered by Port as we would've taken it.

Apparently both Adelaide clubs have already made offers on a trade of picks, I wonder what we are willing to take?

Hello Linton Lodger, there could be a deal with Adelaide on the table for our pick 4. Still alot of trades to go down though.

Selectively ignores people asking for a source and instead specifically addresses those who don’t ask questions.

I've heard the Adelaide Clubs have made some "juicy" (ITK's words) offers for Pick 4.

There is a reason port and crows are willing to sell the farm for the top picks. They want lukosious and rankine badly because they look.like guns. And in their teams they will be superstars fairly quickly. Longer in our team due to coach, mentors etc.
Get best mid available at 4, Not 6. Rankin small forward with huge x factor and kicks goals. Smith is already a midfield bull and kicks goals. Lukosious would be a great get but not a midfielder but he is very highly rated and there is a chance he will be there at 4. Not a big chance but a chance

Both Adelaide teams really keen to get a couple of SA boys that only come along once every 10 years it seems. If the Saints are smart, we could get overs like the Hawks first rounder we got which secured us a future gun in Hunter Clark.

Assuming this is true... put in words what is actually happening

Adelaide and Port are SOOOOO excited about the talent available at 4, they are willing to trade MORE LESSSER talent to get LESS GREATER talent.

Give me a break

... and much more likely to happen. This is the 1st year of live pick trading and if one or both of Lukocius/Rankine are still available at 4 (remembering that there's a lot of talk about GCS taking both Kings) - then I don't think PA or Adl will be able to contain themselves if they're able to get either of the aforementioned.

All this desperation from SA clubs makes me all the more keen to keep pick #4 and bag Rankine with it...'go-home' factor is BS when it comes to Adelaide, as the 'get-out' factor is typically stronger. They know it, they are attempting to snag the best player in the draft with our pick. If GC weren't interested in the Kings (for which they would need #2 and #3) the SA clubs would be working hard on them instead.

Ok, so we do the Port Adelaide pick 6. I doubt they would give us 10 with it, but may offer up 15 that they'll get from Hawks

1. Walsh
2. Lukosious
3. Cozee/ Rankine
4. Rankine/ Cozee
5. Freo or Brisbane - Either King or Smith
6.SAINTS - King or Smith

Probably what we would be toying up between anyway.
Only downside would be if GCS made a surpirise move and picked both Kings.

Pick 15 would still get us another gun. Pick 10 could get us Caldwell.

I say do it!

would we do Adelaide pick 8 and 13?

Would have to accept that Max King and Smith probably gone and we would take Ben King...not too bad, and one of the second tier mids with 13...hmmm let them bid away!

Slight surprise given Lukosious and Rankine considered "generational", seems there is a standout top 3, and excellent top 7, very good top 15-20

Only problem I see here is that we NEED that standout.
