Are the Saints finished this trade period?

I've got a feeling there is more to play out this trade period.

Well, there's whoever the Hawks can't land out of Wingard and Scully.

I would hope so.

The club tooted it's own horn quite a bit going into the trade period and Hannebery and Kent won't be enough to justify all their big talking. Both a good players, but all they're most likely to do is add further depth players, which is pretty what our whole team is at the moment - a depth team lacking A-grade class.

For the club to really put their money where their mouth is, they need to land a top shelf trade.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

I really hope this works out - we're looking a bit like a graveyard for banged up rejects!

Well, if it makes you feel a little more positive at least they were both required players who requested trades, so banged up maybe, but hardly 'rejects'.

Speaking of rejects however...I wouldn't be surprised if we had a crack at Zac Clark.

I'd be pretty happy if we were able to bring in Clarke, we might actually win a hit out to advantage.

Need to chase Scully, I know he missed the season but he has outside class that we haven't had in a decade.

Assuming that we finish in the same position next year (God I hope not) as do West Coast we have effectively traded:

In: Hannerbery and Kent
Out: Hickey and Pick 21

This can only get better if we go up the ladder and West Coast goes down.

Points
28 +677
21 -878
57 -182
60 -446
65 -90
72 +19

Pick 21 ish -900

I am not disappointed so far.

What would be really uplifting is a trade where we were able to engineer, with the help of other clubs, to get someone like Burton and swap pick 4 for two top ten picks.

Tom Scully and Zak Clarke are both really good ideas here, though I dunno why we wouldn't try to pry Preuss out of 2nd rick at Melb to first ruck with us. I like Tom Scully a lot as a footballer.

Still like the idea of grabbing Menzel and Libba.

Both the right age, both only cost salary cap space, both walk into our best 22 when fit.

What would be good would be if we can trade for a player that is proven, a grade quality afl standard player 23-26 in a position we are not overloaded with a grade players currently (that’s pretty much everywhere)...anything less is a letdown and makes the “we’ll be really aggressive during trade and free agency” talk be just like the rest of club at present...all talk and absolutely no substance!

Haha! See Scully apparently blew us off? Said he was only interested in a club close to a premiership...can't blame him I guess. Maybe he might want to go back to the Demons, since their supporters showed so much faith in his abilities?

Our trading is just like the way we have been playing these last few years...

Very uninspiring.

Cant see that team as being much of an improvement. 2 or 3 players that have been broken down, bloke coming back off a broken leg and 2 or 3 players in the backline who cant kick...yeah right......Truth hurts
