Anyway Dylan asked for a coke, but they didn't have any and all the staff had gone off on break, so Lethlean ducks off to 7-11 to grab some but got lost and couldn't find his way back to Moorabbin for ages (left his phone in the meeting room).

Anyway they left Shiel with this intern who got all starstruck and awkwardly asked Dylan to sign his Saints membership 2017 hat. It was a really awkward moment but Dylan obliged, but then the intern says he'll get the papers for him to sign then as well, it was meant to be a joke but it bombed.

So by the time Lethlean got back Dylan had left! Rooey arrives just at that moment having been given the wrong starting time for the meeting!

Absolute shambles.
It wasn't coke but a packet of Wizz Fizz, some Burger Rings and a bottle of Loy's Sarsaparilla

Bloody hell. Loy’s Sarsaparilla. Crikey I haven’t even thought of that for about 40 years. Is Loy’s still going?

Much the same. About 16 a week. That’s quite a lot of sugar. Lime was my fave. And dreaming sofa. Amazing you can remember.

Grew up privileged hey devil!

The only Loys I ever had as a kid was when I'd wait for the old driver (bottle'o) to make his door stop delivery and we'd run up to the back of the truck to steal a bottle or two.

Always drank it warm as if I took it home & got caught my dad would have given me a hiding

No leadership and no one to sell our club properly.
If you knew the difference of our pitch versus the other clubs you would demand the immediate removal of all key figures at our club.
Could be worse. We could be selling our vision via a pokies king’s private jet to Noosa and some brown paper bags. We might be embarrassing but at least we have some shame unlike Carltank.

Portello!!! Another one from the vault. We used to get Slade’s as well sometimes. Lime, Passionfruit, Cola, Creamy Soda, Lemonade. Who supplied Portello?.

After school snack - bottle of Loy׳s / Slade’s lime, 5 cents of chips and 2 potato cakes (2 cents each). Plus 2 x Winfield Green once I was a teenager.

It’s a wonder I survived to adulthood when I think about the shyte I consumed.

It’s a wonder I survived until adulthood when I think about the shyte I consumed.

Our standard weekly order woukd be 4 Sarsaparilla 4 Cocktail, 2 Creaming Soda, 2 Lime, 1 Raspberry, 1 Cola, 1 Lemonade, 1 Orange - think it was 16 bottles or thereabouts

There was Swing softies as well
I remember I used to like the Special which I think was coke and maybe raspberry mixed together.

Was that the portelo flavour ?

I remember there being a few options....loys, slade, swing and as mentioned above gold medal.
I had forgotten gold medal....l do remember the local shell servo selling one of them, quite possibly gold medal as mentioned.
Good memories !!

Ahhh the good old days!!

The Special was Gold Medal. Only available at servos. Dentists best friend.
Lucky Burgers and Loy's soft drinks from the servo in crates. You're taking me back to the 70s Satchmo. I remember when Mum went interstate to see relatives and Dad didn't cook so we had Lucky Burgers for tea every night.

Good times!

*Allegedly.

Bring back Lucky Burgers, and nobody gets hurt.

You can't un-fry things.
