Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
If the club can't attract Shiel (seems Hawthorn is his preferred option), should they pay Wingard the reported 800k to 900k he wants on a long term deal?
Pick 4 and someone like Dunstan to Port in exchange. Hypothetical.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Yep! Absolutely! As previously stated, for us to remain relevant, generate interest/excitement/news stories people want to read, we have to throw the kitchen sink at A grade guns! If we can’t land any, we are a joke that knowone really cares about! C’mon lethers, make something big and exciting happen!

Wingard hasn't finished Top Ten in Ports Best and Fairest for the last three years no way would you give up pick 4 and a player for him.

Not interested in B and F’s...he’s s gun, his best is AA. He’s a goal kicker and brings people thru the gate. I’m over the draft, I don’t think it’s our answer in the next 2 years! We must have an impact on the comp! I wish people stopped giving reasons not to throw the kitchen sink at proven a grade talent and put all eggs in the draft basket...look how little impact 2 x top 10 picks had on our season just gone...we have enough young guys in our list...we need good, no... we need excellent players around them and we need them now!

I agree with a lot of what you posted but he has dropped away over the last three years.Saint wagga wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 10:46amNot interested in B and F’s...he’s s gun, his best is AA. Re: Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
Pick 4 is paying WAY over for Wingard, let alone throwing Dunstan into the mix. Pick 4 is maybe what you would offer for the 2014 - 2015 Wingard, not the current model.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 10:22am If the club can't attract Shiel (seems Hawthorn is his preferred option), should they pay Wingard the reported 800k to 900k he wants on a long term deal?

If we were giving Pick 4, then we would have to be getting a pretty decent pick back.
Besides, Dogs have been in the "box seat" for Wingard for a while it seems.
Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

How about:
#Pick 4 and Dunstan to PA
#Pick 10 (Nth pick from Polec trade) and Wingard to Saints

Re: Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
Probably a bit more interesting. But isn't Wingard more of a half-forward? Does he spend much time in the midfield these days? We're in desperate need of midfield class.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 12:18pm How about:

Re: Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
His management has denied claims that he has recommitted to Port and confirmed that he is very much still on the market. Apparently he's not getting quite the interest in Victoria that he'd hoped, so it looks likely he'll stay anyway.saintbob wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 12:21pmHasn't Wingard recommitted to PA in the last 24hrs???tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 12:18pm How about:

Re: Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
Yep, spot on Curly.
That trade would be crazy as Wingard is a very good player but he's not a midfielder.
Giving up #4 has top be for a gun mid like Shiel or take it to the draft.

wingard's been less lately because the idiot coach thinks he's a mid.

Port's another club that has recommitted to an idiot coach for multiple years. Sometimes, the AFL industry is the equivalent of amateur hour.desertsaint wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 5:30pm wingard's been less lately because the idiot coach thinks he's a mid.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Dunstan and Lonie for Wingard.
McCartin and Weller to GC for a top 10 pick.
Ross to Essendon for their top pick.
One of those 3 1st round picks for Scully... at half of Shiel's cost.
I like this better.

Re: Hypothetical - Chad Wingard
At least he had finals on the board. A fraction more justifiable than recommitting to our coach.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Tue 02 Oct 2018 11:20pmPort's another club that has recommitted to an idiot coach for multiple years.
